Tomato tree and its cultivation
The tomato tree is covered with a veil of mystery. After all, it seems a little fantastic that you can collect fruits not from a bush, but from a whole branched tree.
Let's say right away that the tomato tree Octopus really exists in reality. From this tall plant, you can pick about 10 kg of tomatoes. But, basically, it is grown for industrial purposes, and not for personal consumption.
Of course, you can try planting a tomato tree for fun. But let's discuss important conditions right away. First of all, the greenhouse must be constantly heated. In addition, this hybrid needs regular feeding and difficult maintenance.
If you are ready for these difficulties, then your work will be rewarded with a high harvest. Thanks to the work of breeders, the tomato tree has turned out to be quite resistant to various diseases. It has been repeatedly noted that, unlike other greenhouse plants, it staunchly resists all kinds of pests.
If you are interested in the ordinary cultivation of tomatoes in the open field, then you need to avoid mistakes at the very beginning. So, tomato seedlings must be absolutely healthy. If you plant a slightly wilted plant, then its first flowers may fall off.
Tomato care must also be meticulous. You need to know the nuances of feeding. For example, it is necessary to add foliar fertilizers in the late afternoon to prevent leaf burns.
If you intend to apply nitrogen fertilizers, then they should only be in the form of an aqueous solution. Otherwise, the plant will accumulate nitrates harmful to humans.
I have not yet grown a tomato tree, but the tallest tomatoes were 1.5 m in height - this was achieved by pinching the bush, using the right fertilization and watering, as well as buying seeds of vigorous varieties of tomatoes.
