Description of the drug Maxim
The drug was developed by the employees of the international concern "Syngenta Crop Protection SAS". It is created on the basis of a substance of natural origin. The form of release is a fluid suspension concentrate (since with), a solution of high concentration. For ease of use, it is packed in 2 ml plastic ampoules (price about 25 rubles) and 4 ml or 40 ml bottles with dispensers. Produced in 1.5 liter cans with red dye. The price of the canister is about 2000 rubles.
The main active ingredient in the Maxim preparation is fludioxonil.
It is a natural antibiotic that suppresses and kills harmful bacteria. In 1 liter of the drug, it contains 25 g, Metalaxila-M - 10 g. The drug belongs to the new chemical group Phenylpyrroles + phenylamides.
The dressing agent Maxim is a combined product designed to protect industrial and leguminous plants from diseases that are transmitted with soil and seeds. These are mushrooms of the class:
- Ascomycetes.
- Basidomycetes.
- Imperfect mushrooms.
Particles of the product, after being applied to bulbs, tubers, roots and stems, form a protective film around them. Disease-causing organisms cannot penetrate this barrier, so plants are not affected by disease. A protective barrier is also formed near the plant's rhizome.
Drug price
The approximate price for 1 liter of the drug is 1.7 thousand rubles.
Purpose and benefits
Maxim has a wide range of effects on plants:
- Protects against fungal diseases.
- Stimulates plant growth.
- Strengthens.
- Accelerates development by acting as a fertilizer.
- The drug adheres equally well to areas that are easily wetted or resistant to moisture.
- Has small consumption rates.
- Treated seeds can be stored for a long time.
Maxim belongs to contact fungicides. It almost does not penetrate deep into the plant, but remains on its surface and there it acts on pathogens. Typically, plant protectors need to be sprayed frequently, at least once every two weeks. They do not stay on the leaves for long, are washed off by the rain.
Maxim lasts much longer, one treatment is enough to protect the plants for 12 weeks, which is practically equal to the length of the growing season. The instructions indicate that the maximum effectiveness is achieved when applying reprocessing. The advantage of the drug is that it does not kill beneficial microorganisms that live in the soil and help plants to develop.
It is used to process:
- Tuber.
- Seed in preparation for storage or before sowing.
- Roots of indoor and garden flowers, bushes before planting.
- Soils before agricultural work.
- Grasses on the lawns.
Fungicide Maxim is distinguished by a wide range of plants on which it is used and diseases:
- He saves corn from root and stem rot.
- Potatoes for scab, phomosis, dry rot, helminthosporiosis.
- Rice for blast.
- Peas from fusarium.
- Winter wheat, triticale, barley from fusarium, root rot.
- Fiber flax from fusarium.
- Onions, garlic, bulbous flowers - from root rot, fusarium, gray rot, helminthiasis, penicillosis.
Maxim can be mixed with most insecticides, dressing agents and other fungicides with a neutral chemical reaction. They can be mixed in the same bowl, saving processing time. Do not use together with dressing agents prepared in organic solvents. Maxim is suitable for tank mixes with insecticidal disinfectants. It is advisable to test them for compatibility before mixing several drugs.
Treatment of seeds, tubers and plants
Methods for treating different plants with Maxim are slightly different. Seeds intended for sowing for seedlings are treated to protect against blackleg and other diseases. The grooves into which the seeds are sown are also spilled with the prepared solution just before sowing.
Seeds of winter wheat, triticale and winter rye, fiber flax are pickled from fusarium and root rot using 2 liters of the preparation per ton of grain. Processing is carried out before sowing or before storage. After processing, seeds can be stored for no more than a year.
Potato tubers are processed before being stored. They are susceptible to such diseases:
- Fusarium
- Anthracnose
- Alternaria
- Silvery scab
- Storage rot
- Rhizoctonia
More information about the use of the drug Maxim for the treatment of bulbs can be found in the video:
Maxim will protect healthy tubers from pathogens that are on diseased plants, prevent them from developing.
- To treat tubers before planting, 4 ml of Maxim is diluted in 100 g of water. Each tuber is sprayed with the prepared solution from all sides. When processing a large amount of potatoes, they are placed in a plastic wrap, sprayed and shaken in it so that all the tubers are moistened. They are dried and planted in the ground. Before putting into storage, potatoes are treated with a suspension prepared according to the recipe of 2 ml of the drug per 100 ml of water. It is dried, then planted in the soil, preparing it for planting the next year.
- For the treatment of flower plants, 2 ml of the drug is diluted in 1 liter of water. With the prepared solution, spill the earth under each plant, adding 100 ml under each of them.
- The bulbs and roots of flowers, onions and garlic are pickled by diluting 2 ml of the medicine in 1 liter of water. Poured into a bowl, put the plants in it and incubate for 30 minutes. Then they are dried and laid for storage or planted in the ground. The solution is sufficient to immerse 1 kg of bulbs at the same time. After processing, you can repeat the procedure again, with the next batch of material. The rest of the drug is treated with a plot of the garden.
- When processing indoor plants, add up to 6 drops of Maxim to a glass of water (200 g).
- For pickling peas, dilute with 2 ml in 0.5 l of water. Soak before planting for half an hour. This amount of solution is sufficient for 1 kg of seeds. The drug has no phytotoxic effect, it does not harm plants.
Cereals handling rules
When using the drug Maxim for processing grain, do not use it on germinated seeds that have cracks on the surface.Their moisture content before processing should not exceed 16%. Treated seeds are stored for no longer than a year, but after 6 months their germination must be re-checked. They are stored in a well-ventilated room at a low temperature.
The treatment is carried out by continuously stirring the seeds so that the particles of the preparation do not settle. In this case, the effectiveness of the drug will decrease. The rate of use is about 11 liters per ton.
In small farms, batch plants are used, which are distinguished by accurate dosage, uniform distribution of seeds.
In large enterprises, the Cimbria etching technique is used. Here you can prepare mixtures with other fungicides and insecticides, apply dyes and finishing additives.
Tillage
Planting bulbs or tubers in soil affected by fungal pathogens exposes them to the risk of disease:
- Basal rot.
- Rhizoctonia.
- Verticellosis wilting.
- Fusarium wilting.
It is better to immediately treat such soil with Maxim. A solution is prepared at the rate of 2 ml of the drug per 1 liter of water. Spill the soil and cover it with a black film, which is not removed until 3 days. During this time, the drug disinfects the ground, and it becomes harmless to plants. It is populated with Fitosporin, Baikal or fermented infusions to populate with useful microflora. After a week, you can plant seedlings.
If the plant has already been planted in contaminated soil, then it is treated additionally. The plant itself and the soil around it are sprayed with a solution prepared in the ratio of 2 ml of the drug per 1 liter of water. Then they cover it with black film for a couple of days.
Lawn treatment
Lawn grass suffers from the following diseases:
- Snow mold.
- Root rot.
For processing, use a solution prepared by mixing 2 ml of Maxim and 2 liters of water. Sprayed from a spray bottle. This amount is sufficient to cover 20 m2 of lawn.
Pay special attention to the processing time. It is carried out in the fall, after the site has been mowed. To prevent relapses, repeat the treatment again. Do it in the spring, after the snow melts.
