Lilac branch - messenger of spring

When lilacs bloom on the streets, spring is already in full force. Warmth and smells make you dizzy. This shrub is very popular in our latitudes, it is grown in parks and private estates, it does not require special care and looks very beautiful.

The ancient Greeks have a beautiful myth associated with lilacs. They believe that Syringa (Latin for the plant) is a beautiful nymph that turned into a reed in order to escape from the enamored goat-footed god Pan.

More than two thousand varieties grow on the earth. But not all of them are grown as a cultivated plant. The choices available, however, provide an opportunity for gardeners to decorate their summer cottages with bright and fragrant hedges. Dense crown, different shapes of inflorescences attract prying eyes. Lush bouquets of lilacs look great in bouquets, bringing tenderness and a breath of natural beauty to the house.

The main points in care are sufficient light and moisture in a drought. Otherwise, lilacs are quite resistant to climatic conditions. If you take care of it, weed and loosen the ground, water it moderately (in the first half of summer), feed it, then in return you will receive abundant flowering and bright greenery.

A branch of lilac cut from young bushes will stay in the vase longer, especially if you cut off some of the leaves that evaporate moisture. You can also add some citric acid to the water.

If the bushes are cut, then they will better keep their shape and give more inflorescences. Pruning is carried out in late spring - early summer. It is useful to remove basal suckers.
