Attachments
As you can see, the basic equipment of the Shtenli 1030 walk-behind tractor is very meager and unremarkable. Therefore, it is not surprising why many owners prefer to buy a walk-behind tractor with mounted options. In addition, together with them, you can fully assess the capabilities of the walk-behind tractor. We can say that attachments are of paramount importance, without which it makes no sense to buy one walk-behind tractor. So, let's consider the most popular options for the model in question:
- Plow
- Tiller
- Lugs
- Potato digger
- Potato planter
- Trailer
- Seeder
- Water pump
- Cultivation cutters (additional)
- Seat adapter
Before first use
The Shtenli walk-behind tractor is run-in before the first use with an increased load. During the running-in, the load on the walk-behind tractor, according to the manufacturer's recommendations, is 50% of the full load on the device. Consider the most important steps, if followed, you can achieve the desired result, and thereby extend the service life of the walk-behind tractor for many years:
Engine starting. Before that, it is necessary to carefully check all components and assemblies, as well as add oil and fuel
The engine should initially run at idle speed, which should be gradually increased to maximum. This will allow the internal parts to get used to each other, as it were, and adapt to different operating conditions. This procedure can to some extent be considered an imitation of these conditions.
Checking the gearshift mechanism
It is important to check how well the box works, and whether there are extraneous noises and vibrations. There should be nothing like this in a new product.
If not, it's a marriage.
During the first operation of the walk-behind tractor, you can cultivate the soil, including cultivating, plowing, planting and digging root crops, forming beds, etc.
Upon completion of the running-in, which lasts an average of 15 hours, the walk-behind tractor should be inspected again, and oil and fuel should be added.
The best heavy motor cultivators
Motor-cultivators of this class are often compared with walk-behind tractors, and it is not surprising, since their performance is comparable.
Cultivators of this class have an engine power of more than 5.5 liters. with. Such devices loosen virgin soil without any problems and process plots of up to 2 hectares. Another distinctive feature of this technique is the ability to install attachments on them.

Chinese
The main difference between Chinese motoblocks and competitors from other countries is their low cost. If a similar level of prices is provided due to mass production, this is one thing. But sometimes the Chinese, in an effort to reduce costs, complete their products with poor quality parts. Therefore, when buying products from the Middle Kingdom, you need to carefully look at the history of the manufacturer and study the reviews of consumers of such products.
The main technical characteristics and operating capabilities of motoblocks manufactured in different countries differ slightly. Nevertheless, it is worth familiarizing yourself with the most popular and powerful diesel models from Chinese manufacturers in more detail.

How to make a power take-off shaft for a walk-behind tractor
There are different PTO options. Independent, as the name implies, does not depend on the speed of the vehicle. Power take-off occurs directly from the engine through the planetary gear, bypassing the gearbox. In mechanics, this is called a differential - force distribution. It is difficult to make such a device yourself in the garage.
The easiest option for homemade products is a synchronous PTO device. In this case, it is driven into rotation by the secondary shaft of the gearbox, and its speed changes depending on the included speed. It is worth raising or lowering the gear - the PTO speed will also change. The synchronous PTO also depends on the operation of the clutch: when the lever is pressed, it is disengaged.
The scheme is quite simple: the secondary shaft of the gearbox is connected with a V-belt to the pulley of the drive mechanism, to which the active units will be connected. The cardan drive to the driven pulley can be installed using parts from old mechanisms.
The drive belt is not attached to the shaft itself, but only to the small pulley, while the driven belt must be of a larger diameter in order to increase the torque and decrease the rotational speed.
If you made a walk-behind tractor for yourself, then equipping it with a PTO is not difficult to perform. When buying a new device, you should immediately choose something that will not have to be redone later.
Which walk-behind tractors do you think are more reliable: with PTO or belt drive?
