Using imagination and improvised means, you can turn an old door into an exclusive piece that will become a decoration and highlight of your interior.
Wall upholstery
If your barn breaks with old doors left over after repairs, we suggest making them upholstery in the walls of a workshop or any other room. By painting them in one color and placing them asymmetrically, you will get an unusual interior design.
Mirror creation
Many older doors have recessed panels perfect for inserting a mirror. You can cut it to the desired size yourself with special tools, or you can make it to order in a hardware store. With the help of special glue, the mirror surface is attached to the recess. The finished mirror can fulfill its intended purpose, or it can only be an element of decor.
Table
Solid wood doors can be used as large worktops, they are convenient because they are already cut to the desired size and finished at the edges. Just find a door you like, paint it, brush or sand if necessary to give it an aged look, then attach the legs or base to match your style. If the door has raised or recessed panels, you can cover it with a tempered glass or polycarbonate sheet to size to provide a smooth surface for drinks or other items.
Hanging storage
Hang the door from porch joists or a strong tree branch to create unusual storage space. Throw a strong twine over a beam or branch, drill holes in the doors, thread the twine, and tie large knots. A chain can be used if desired. The hanging table is very convenient to use, because it does not have legs that always interfere with those who are sitting.
Bookshelf
An old door can be used to construct a stylish bookshelf. To do this, you need to paint the canvas in the desired color or artificially age it with sandpaper and a primer. Shelves can be made from any material at hand. The main thing is to attach the door leaf to the wall or put legs under the bottom shelf. Optionally, you can add top, bottom and side panels to form a complete bookcase.
Screen
Screens or screens are often used to divide a room into zones. You can make them using old doors. For this project, combine three or four doors of approximately the same size, but not necessarily the same style. Different doors and colors of their cover will make the screen more interesting. Use decorative hinges to connect the canvases together.
Shelf for utensils

The doors can be taken as a whole or by dividing them with the help of tools into sections that will be used for the sides, armrests and backrests.
Note board
One of the easiest and least expensive things you can do with an old door is to coat it with wood paint to create a stylish note board. If you find a door with multiple recessed panels, try using each panel for a different purpose. Cover one piece with paint, attach a corkboard to the other, and anchor a piece of sheet metal to the other to create a magnetic note-taking surface.
Wall with hooks
Many people like to attach hooks to an existing door to hang coats, belts, hats, and other accessories. But who said that the door must necessarily stand in the doorway? Attach the old door to the wall, stabilize it, and attach different sized hooks and holders to it.
Jung decor
Carl Jung once said: "Sleep is a small hidden door to the deepest and most intimate sanctuary of the soul," therefore, as a decor, in accordance with this statement, you can place door leaves behind the head of the bed.
