Sinyavka
Sinyavka is a name that is suitable for many plants that are blue in color, but most often it is associated with the Moldavian snakehead, an annual plant that belongs to the family of lamines.
The Moldavian snakehead has a taproot and a thin root, a tetrahedral stem, branched and erect, reaching 70 cm in height, the leaves are oblong, short-petiolate, serrated along the edge. The bruise blooms with racemose inflorescences of pale purple flowers, the fruits are oblong triangular dark brown nuts.
Snakehead is used in cooking, its leaves exude a lemon-mint aroma.
The snakehead can be used in landscape design, it is early maturing, well resistant to cold weather, and loves light. At the beginning of growth, it requires good watering, but when it blooms, it can survive drought well. Grass should be planted where it will be light, since shading will negatively affect aroma and yield. Sowing grass is best done before winter or in very early spring, to a depth of at least two centimeters; when the grass germinates, it should be thinned out. You can remove the grass as needed, cutting off the leaves and stems, in order to collect the seeds, some of the plants should be left.
Moldavian snakehead is popular in folk medicine, contains essential oils, as well as: tannins, citral, vitamins, flavonoids, coumarins. Fatty oil is contained in the seeds of the plant, it includes acids: stearic, palmitic, oleic, linolenic, linoleic. There are many trace elements in the roots.
The herbal mass is used as a sedative, anticonvulsant and pain reliever. An infusion from the plant is recommended to be taken with frequent palpitations, migraine aches, neuralgia, headache with colds. Purulent wounds heal faster if crushed, finely chopped bruise leaves are applied to them.
Compresses from the mass of grass are applied to a sore spot with rheumatism and bruises. Snakehead is able to increase appetite and enhance digestion. Snakehead decoction is used for pyelonephritis in children, for example, there is information that this decoction has passed clinical trials. The herb extract is used for antibacterial therapy.
The bruise is also used as a sedative, as a remedy for female diseases and fainting, for rinsing stomatitis, for gastroenteritis and nephritis.
The easiest way to prepare a decoction from a snakehead is to pour a tablespoon of grass with 250 milliliters of boiling water and leave it under the lid for thirty minutes, and then strain it thoroughly.
