Ginseng: photo and description
Ginseng is a very popular medicinal plant that can be often seen in various vitamins, dietary supplements, drinks and some medicines. As a rule, these preparations use ginseng root, which has a powerful stimulating and tonic effect. It increases the body's resistance and is able to increase the vitality and energy of the body. In oriental medicine, it is also believed that ginseng root is able to preserve youth, beauty and health of a person for a long time.
Despite such a wide distribution of this plant, in our country few people know what ginseng looks like. This is due to the fact that the plant of this species grows only in the south of the Khabarovsk Territory, in the Primorsky Territory, and also in the Far East.
Ginseng, the photo of which can be seen above, is a perennial plant that belongs to the herbaceous species. Ginseng has fleshy stems and large green leaves. Its height is, as a rule, from 40 to 70 cm. Ginseng blooms in small white flowers, in place of which then red fruits filled with seeds appear. Well, the most valuable part of the plant, of course, is its thick root.
The red fruits of the ginseng plant, the photo of which is attached to this article, are a means of propagation of this plant. The seeds contained in them are carried by birds, thereby contributing to the spread of the plant. True, ginseng seeds do not germinate immediately. They often take about two or more years to germinate even in the most fertile soil.
