Basil can grow up to 60 cm in height. The leaves of this plant are ovoid, they are quite shiny. Their color depends on the variety - and can be green or purple.
The varieties of this plant can belong to two groups - those that have green leaves or those that grow purple. Any of the varieties are very popular in Eastern culinary culture. Basil is often found as a spice in Mediterranean cuisine.
Basil is pleasantly sunny and warm places, so it is useful to grow it indoors. For him, it is worth choosing a soil that is permeable, fertile and light in composition. It is very important to water the plants more often and fertilize constantly, only then will it please with its yield. If watering or fertilizing is not enough, then the basil can acquire an unpleasant taste, as the greens will be tough.
Basil seeds should be planted in early May. And then sow fresh seeds. Each seed germinates at a temperature not lower than 15 degrees Celsius. Basil can be grown in two ways. Or it is first planted on seedlings and only then transplanted into open ground. Alternatively, it can be directly planted in the ground. Any of the methods will bring a considerable harvest.
