Your mint on the windowsill

A plant like mint is liked by many. It has a pleasant smell and many beneficial properties. It is believed that it is best not to keep plants in the bedroom, especially if they are fragrant. But mint is often grown at home.

Mint in every home

There are a lot of recipes based on this plant in folk medicine. Everyone gets the opportunity to grow this plant in the house. Thus, not only a fragrant plant and a good addition to tea will always be at hand. So how to keep mint at home?

  • It propagates very easily, by cuttings and seeds, layering and division of rhizomes;
  • This plant readily accepts complete fertilization of the mineral type;
  • The soil should be loose, soft, rich in humus, constantly moistened;
  • It is recommended to plant in autumn and spring;
  • It can grow all year round, not only at home, but also on the balcony;
  • In winter, it is better not to water the plant abundantly, it will not have time to process water, since vital activity slows down;
  • A drainage layer is imperative;
  • The stalk takes root in sand and water;
  • To be more confident, it is better to wait for stronger roots, but do not tighten, otherwise it will be more difficult for the plant to take root in the ground;
  • She needs a well-lit place in the house;
  • In winter, it is better to interrupt feeding;
  • Mint loves spraying;
  • Do not allow the soil to dry out.

Here are the basic rules. They are not difficult to execute, but they are worth sticking to. In principle, in the garden, mint sometimes grows on its own, even if the owner has completely forgotten about its existence. But at home, mint requires attention and care, albeit in a minimal amount.

Thanks for the advice! I was just thinking about growing mint since spring. I hope everything works out. Do you need to somehow prepare the seeds in advance?
