Volzhanka dioecious - a gardener's dream

What plant does every gardener dream of? True, about unpretentious care and resistant to pests and diseases, pleasing to the eye with luscious green foliage and blooming with bright beautiful inflorescences from early spring to the first frost. It would seem that such a plant simply does not exist, but this is not at all the case. A striking example of this is a large (more precisely, simply gigantic, sometimes reaching two meters in height) perennial herb called Volzhanka dioecious.

According to some reports, the term "Volzhanka" was common among flower growers back in the 17th century. Modern botanists prefer to call this plant by no means the euphonious word "aruncus", which literally translates from Greek as "goat's beard". Volzhanka dioecious is a very valuable plant from a decorative point of view. Its leaves with intricate feathers, like patches of exquisite lace and small white, yellowish or pinkish flowers, collected in very large openwork panicles, will undoubtedly become a magnificent decoration for any garden. In addition, these blossoms exude an intoxicating "honey" scent.

In general, this plant has about ten species that originate from countries with a temperate climate located in the Northern Hemisphere. Outwardly, they differ significantly from each other: they have different heights, leaf shapes and inflorescence colors, as well as flowering periods. However, of all the species of this plant, the most common and popular among flower growers is the dioecious volzhanka, which has the largest and most beautiful inflorescences.
