How to properly cook and consume herb
To achieve a positive effect, you need to properly brew the leaves of the plant.Only in this case it is possible to preserve all the medicinal properties. There are two ways to prepare a drink. For 0.6 liters of boiling water, take two tablespoons of the dried herb. Steaming should be carried out in an enamel bowl, which is tightly closed with a lid. A thermos is a good alternative. The drink is infused for about 15 minutes, after which it is mixed.
To prepare a drink, you can use not only the leaves of the plant, but also its flowers.
This tea can be stored at room temperature for several days, because it contains essential oils that ensure its safety. You can drink tea cold and warm. When heated, the drink must not be boiled. This will lead to the loss of healing properties.
It is also not recommended to add sugar to tea; it should be replaced with honey, dates, raisins or dried apricots. At the bottom of the enameled container, dry grass is laid in a layer of 4-5 cm and filled with water at room temperature. Then the drink is heated in a water bath and infused for 10 minutes.
Rules for the collection and storage of raw materials
The collection of raw materials is carried out during the flowering period - from the end of June to the beginning of autumn. It is important to harvest the grass before the flower cluster is fully open. If the collection of willow tea is carried out towards the end of summer, then you need to make sure that the fluff from the fruits does not get into the raw materials.
You need to collect raw materials in dry weather and in ecologically clean places. Ivan tea growing in gas-polluted areas or in areas with poor ecology is unsuitable for medicinal purposes.
Fermentation of Ivan tea:
- To obtain a finished brew, the method of fermentation or fermentation of the ground parts of the plant is used. As a result, willow tea becomes similar to regular black tea, but has a pleasant scent of flowers.
- The collected raw materials are dried and crushed until a liquid appears. It takes on a darker color.
- The gruel with juice is placed in a deep container and covered with a moistened cloth.
- Maintain at a temperature not lower than 25 degrees for 30 to 36 hours.
- The fermented mixture should acquire a brownish green color and floral aroma. It is important not to miss the moment, otherwise the raw materials will sour.
- The fermented mixture is dried at a temperature not lower than 90 degrees for one hour. The grass needs to be stirred periodically for even drying.
- The finished mixture should be kept for at least a month, after which it can be brewed like a regular tea leaves.
- Store dry tea in a tightly closed container. If the fermentation process is carried out correctly, the brewing properties will become stronger with prolonged storage.
- Koporye tea quenches thirst well and has a pleasant taste with tart notes.
