It is better to grow primroses through seedlings. To get it, the seeds are sown around mid-March. Enough time will pass before the final transplant for the sprouts to grow stronger.
Several seeds are usually placed in each pot at once - from 2 to 3. When all of them germinate at once, the extra ones can be removed later. The pots must be placed in a home greenhouse or simply covered with foil to create the microclimate necessary for seedling to emerge.
You should not expect sprouts quickly in the case of primrose. Its seeds do not germinate quickly: within 2-3 weeks. The soil in the planting containers must be kept moist at all times.
Growing primrose from seeds can be accelerated by keeping them in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours before planting. It will be necessary to remove the seeds from there before sowing.
Seedlings are planted in a permanent place for central Russia in the second decade of June, when the threat of night frosts has passed.
The transplant must be carried out carefully, since the roots of the primrose are very easily damaged.
The primrose reacts very favorably to fertilizing with complex fertilizers, so do not forget about these events.
Such dressings provide lush and abundant flowering, and also give the plants the strength to grow and develop.
