Petunia can be called the queen of flower beds. Almost every florist in the country or on his balcony at least once, but grew this beautifully flowering annual plant.
You can assign petunias the title of queen of flower beds and flower beds because it blooms all summer and almost until frost. She is also unpretentious in cultivation and care. Well, just a joy for the gardener!
Petunia - growing and care
Petunia flowers are universal: they are suitable both for growing in the open field, and in balcony pots and boxes, hanging pots. Ampel varieties of this plant are suitable for decorating fences, walls of arbors, hedges.
Petunia can be propagated by cuttings and through planting seeds. If you decide to sow seeds, you need to do this already in late February - early March. In this case, already at the beginning of June, you will be able to see your plants blooming.
In order for petunia seeds to sprout together, they need to provide them with a temperature regime of + 22-25 degrees, the soil must be with good drainage. When the sprouts sprout, you can lower the temperature to about +20 degrees.
Terry and ampelous varieties reproduce better by cuttings. This is due to the fact that such varieties are hybrid, they do not form seeds.
Petunia, the cultivation and care of which does not require the application of a mass of forces, need spring feeding for more lush flowering and better growth of the vegetative mass.
Choose well-lit and windy areas for planting in your garden. Petunia does not like waterlogging, so keep an eye on the frequency of watering.
Petunia is ideal for balconies. I bought seeds, planted and did everything that was written in the instructions. But in the end, instead of beautiful flowers, I got some kind of overgrowths - the stem was thin and long, and even twisted in addition. What's wrong?
