What is mesh iris in care

All plants of this type grow from rhizomes. They need to be planted in early autumn, then they will bloom in late winter, as a maximum - in early spring. How to get iris reticulated at home?

  • 6-8 rhizomes should be planted in a pot of about 12 cm or in a special bowl, sprinkling the rhizomes with soil;
  • For irises, it does not matter if they are kept in the dark before planting, a cold, bright place, for example, a shaded window sill, is enough;
  • Lighting is needed when the buds appear;
  • Overfeeding irises is dangerous - it will lead to a large number of offspring that will not have flowers;
  • When flowers appear, the plant needs shading, at least during the sunniest hours;
  • When the growing period begins, the temperature should be about 4 degrees, and when flowering, you need at least 15 degrees;
  • When the rhizome is planted, you immediately need to water the soil mixture, and then you need to maintain the moisture level;
  • When the flowering period comes, watering should be done 2-3 times a week.

Here are the basic requirements. Choose a clay type of soil, a mixture of the appropriate type for indoor flowers is also suitable. As a result, stems of about 10 cm should appear, and the flowers should be of a bright color, with specks. At the end of flowering, you need to cut off the peduncles, remove the yellowed leaves. At the summer cottage, the iris reticulated, planted by the offspring, will bloom in a few years.
