What is the difference from mittens?
Many people often confuse wachegs with ordinary work gloves made of dense material. In fact, these two protective equipment are significantly different from each other.
- For the manufacture of vacheg, special dense cloth with refractory impregnation is used. Thanks to this, the products have an increased ability to protect workers' hands not only from mechanical damage, but also from burns. As for the gloves, they are only intended to protect against injury.
- Vachegs have a specific cut, this is their main difference from mittens. The peculiarity of this cut is that the lower part of the vacheg has an elongation. Thanks to this cut, the product is able to protect not only the hands, but also the part above the wrist.
- Unlike the vacheg, the mittens are not equipped with split pads, which can be full or hand-held. In vachegs, they are considered a mandatory part.
What is it and where is it used?
Vachegs are elongated two-layer gloves designed for enhanced protection of hands from the negative effects of high temperatures. They are commonly used in contact with hot surfaces and to protect the skin of the hands from splashes and sparks from molten metal. Vachegs are widely used among steel makers, welders, iron foundries and metallurgists. They are no less in demand at enterprises whose activities are related to metalworking and glass production.
The top of the vacheg is represented by split leather with a thickness of 1 to 1.3 mm (according to the requirements of GOST 17-463-75), the base is made of overcoat cloth with a density of 760 g / m2, and the inner seams are stitched with special reinforced threads. The standard product length is 375 mm.
Manufacturers produce this type of mittens from fabrics, felt, tarpaulins; there are also products made from combined metals. Arks can also differ in cut; one-, three- and five-fingered mittens are usually found on the market. To perform high-precision welding, it is recommended to purchase five-finger models, since they are versatile and provide your hands with complete freedom when performing work.
