The chain length should be equal to 2/3 of the window length.

On the sash.

When the blinds are supposed to be installed on the sash, the height of the product should be equal to the length of the window sash.
The distance from one glazing bead, on which it is planned to fix the structure, to another is measured, thirty millimeters are added and the width of the product is obtained.

Measurements for vertical blinds

You can hang products both on the wall and in the window opening.

The width of the roller blinds to be mounted on the wall can be arbitrary. In this case, everything depends on the personal preferences of the owner of the apartment. And in order to find out the required length, it is enough to measure the distance from the window sill to the window opening and add five centimeters to the result.

The width of the curtain, which will be attached to the window opening, must be equal to the opening width minus four centimeters. The length of the canvas is equal to the height of the window opening to the window sill.

Having measured the windows and decided on the size of the blinds, it will be necessary to select the type of construction mechanism and its location (right or left).

They must be installed so that they do not interfere with the handle to turn. The procedure is as follows:

We install the mounts on the cornice so that they do not interfere with the moving parts inside.

The drill diameter is slightly less than the diameter of the self-tapping screws. Usually self-tapping screws with a diameter of 3 mm are included, so the drill should be taken by 2 mm or 2.5 mm.
We take the brackets, fasten them with self-tapping screws to the frame.
We insert the curtain of the blinds, pressing until it clicks.
We close the ends with the plugs that come with the kit.

Having to drill holes in a window frame can be daunting, but that's okay. In case of improperly made holes, unsuccessful ones can be filled with sealant. White silicone, not acrylic (acrylic turns yellow quickly). In this case, the characteristics of the windows will not be affected. What could be dangerous - getting into a double-glazed window. Then it can crack. But this is not fatal - it can be replaced, although it will not be cheap.

But that is not all. In order to finally install horizontal blinds on plastic windows, you need to drill a couple more holes - for the clips (also called anti-wind). These are additional fasteners at the bottom of the opening sash of the window. The bottom edge of the blinds is tucked into them. They do this so that when airing the blinds do not hang down, do not dangle from the wind and do not knock objects on the windowsill.

We put the clamps as follows: we try on, pulling the blinds down a little, mark the places of fasteners, drill holes, install. We fill the lower bar into the installed clips. Now, even with a draft or an open sash, the blinds will not dangle. The only thing to watch out for during installation is not to get into the glazing bead (this is a long bar that goes along the glass unit and holds it). It is necessary to drill a hole in the frame itself, stepping back at least 1 cm from the edge. Otherwise, there are no problems.

No drilling

There is also a way to install blinds on plastic windows and not drill the frame. This method is available only for those blinds that are hung on opening sashes. In this case, they are simply hung on plastic mounts / brackets that slide onto the frame from above. To prevent them from moving, a strip of double-sided tape is attached to the back of the bracket. After removing the protective film, it can be glued (but you can not fix it).

This mounting method is used to install roller blinds or horizontal blinds. Vertical blinds are attached to the upper slope of the window, to the wall or to the ceiling, also by means of drilling. First, holes are drilled in the ceiling or wall with a puncher, where the dowels are inserted. The curtain rod of the blind is screwed on with screws.

Do-it-yourself vertical blinds installation involves the following steps:

Further, it is on these marks that we apply fasteners for the blinds and mark the places of drilling. This will give you 2 marks on the right and 2 marks on the left. Remember to attach the fasteners in line with the sides.

Note: for the installation of curtains with a width of more than 1.6 m, an additional intermediate mount must be installed 10 cm from the control cord.

Step 4 Now, using these marks, we drill holes with a drill. The drilling depth should be 4-5 cm.

Step 5 The right and left fasteners (in accordance with the sides and marks) are screwed to the ceiling / wall with self-tapping screws.

Step 6 Insert and close the curtain rod of the blinds in the fasteners locks by turning and / or pressing the lever clockwise. If you use conventional brackets for fastening, then the cornice is simply screwed to them.

Step 7 By adjusting the cord, turn the sliders so that they turn across the cornice (as shown below in the left photo) and proceed to attaching the slats, simply snapping them into the grooves of the sliders.

Step 8: We attach the lower chain to the lamella weights, first from their outer side, then cut off the excess and do the same on the reverse side of the lamellas, and then with the second part of the lamellas. Well, that's all, the installation of vertical blinds is complete, it remains only to check the operation of the mechanism and adjust the position of the slats.
