Why the washing machine has an electric shock and how to fix it

Washing machine electric shock: possible causes

An electrical discharge can be obtained both when the washing machine is running, and simply plugged into the outlet. This happens for a number of reasons:

  • the equipment is connected contrary to the rules for electrical installations (PUE);
  • lack of grounding conductors;
  • the presence of malfunctions of the outlet or damage to the electrical wiring;
  • violation of the integrity of the insulation of wires;
  • high level of humidity;
  • malfunction of protective shutdown units.

Neglect of PUE and often the lack of high-quality grounding in the equipment leads to the firmware of electric current through the body of the washing machine. This problem is not devoid of not only old models, but also modern examples of household appliances. More often than others, residents of high-rise buildings can feel such inconveniences. Developers often simply bypass the issue of installing grounding equipment, thereby saving money.

Another reason for current leakage is a malfunction of the electrical wiring of the washing machine, "breakdowns" in the heating element. The consequences of this breakdown can be the most unpredictable - from complete failure of the electronics of the washing machine up to causing serious injury to the human body.

According to statistics, about 85% of residents of high-rise buildings, due to the small area of apartments, install washing machines in the bathrooms. In such rooms, temperature drops often occur and dampness is formed, and water and its concentration are an excellent conductor of electricity. In this case, it will shock not only through the body of the machine, but also through the sewer and water pipes.

Today, manufacturers equip washing machines with surge protectors. Their function is to protect the electronics from sudden voltage surges. But it is a mistake to consider the surge protector as a kind of panacea for electric shocks. Indeed, in the absence of grounding, part of the current will inevitably be given to the case. To avoid voltage supply to the outer casing, disconnect the capacitor terminal, without touching the ground, from the body of the washing machine. This simple trick will help you avoid electric shocks.

Shocks the body of equipment

Touching the body of the unit can also lead to painful sensations due to the action of the electric current. Firstly, a damaged contact or abrasions and cracks in the wire insulation can act as a factor for electricity leakage. Excessive vibration caused by a rotating drum often leads to violations of the integrity of the insulating coating. In the process of washing and wringing, the wires rub against each other, the result of which is the destruction of their outer shell.

First, de-energize the equipment and open the case by removing or opening the top cover. Then conduct a close inspection of the wires inside, located in the immediate vicinity of the chassis surface. As a rule, worn wiring can be seen with the naked eye.

The next most frequent factor is the use of a washing machine in a room with a high level of humidity. The optimal solution is to dismantle the device and install it in a dry room. If this is not possible, the device will need to be properly grounded. This will protect you from breakdowns during operation.

The last reason is a breakdown of a heating element or an electric motor. If the matter is in the heating tube, purchase a similar item from the store and insert it instead of the old one. If the motor malfunctions, you can try to repair it alone, if unsuccessful, replace it with an analogue.

Causes

Household power grid not grounded

A small amount of current is always transmitted through the structure of the washing machine to the common grounding system in the house. The most common reason why the drum of a washing machine can be struck by a person's electrical discharge is the lack of a grounding device.

If it is not connected to the house, then the walls of the machine will accumulate small charges, which are felt when touched, especially with wet hands. This problem can be eliminated by grounding the electrical wiring in the home. As a rule, in switchboards of multi-storey buildings, grounding terminals are provided for this purpose. But, in some old buildings, they may not be there. In this case, grounding must be carried out directly for the washing machine.

Depending on the location of the household appliance, the amperage will differ. If the machine is located in a room with minimal moisture, such as a kitchen, hallway or hallway, the discharge will be subtle. Provided that it is installed in the bathroom, the electric shocks will be felt much stronger.

Damaged wiring

When grounding is installed, the drum of the machine may be shocked due to a breakdown in the internal structure of the device. Damage to the wiring or heating device can contribute to the charge.

In order to find the reasons, you should open a part of the machine body from the back side by unscrewing the fixing bolts. Having removed the wall, you need to diagnose the wiring elements, checking for damage and kinks. If a wire with a defect is found, it must be replaced immediately; if this is not possible, the damaged area must be insulated. In case of serviceability, it is necessary to proceed to the inspection of the heating element.

Heating element

The heating device for each of the models of the washing machine is located in different places.

On devices manufactured by Ariston, Indesit, Electrolux, Atlant, the heating element is usually located at the back. On devices from brands such as Samsung, LG, Bosch, the heater is often located on the front side. If the machine is top-loaded, it is usually accessible through the front or side wall and opens without much difficulty. To speed up the process of finding a heating element, you can use the user manual, which describes the connection diagram.

To check if the heating element is in working order, you will need a multimeter. The tester must be set in a mode that detects resistance by entering 200 Ohm. After that, you need to disconnect the wiring from the heater and attach the multimeter with the help of probes to its contacts. The health of the part is indicated by a value from 20 to 30 Ohm, and a breakdown - from 0 to 1 Ohm. The number 1 signals that the circuit is broken inside, and 0 indicates a short circuit in the heating device.

After checking the health of the heating element, you need to examine it for a breakdown. Since the indicator of the resistance value even within the normal range does not mean that the current from the heater will not be transmitted to the drum of the washing machine. There is a dielectric in the design of the part, which is capable of acting on the system.

Breakdown is diagnosed using a tester. After setting the buzzer signal mode, one tester probe is applied to the terminal of the heating device, and the second to the body of the part. In the absence of sound, the heating element is working properly, if the multimeter beeps, this indicates a breakdown. In all cases, the part cannot be repaired, only replacement is recommended.

High humidity

If the automatic machine is placed in a room with high humidity, then there is also a risk of electric shocks from its drum. While in the bathroom, the device accumulates condensate from vapors on its parts. Due to this, the current can hit not only the drum of the machine, but also its body, as well as water and sewer pipes. Water, in this case, acts as a conductor.Electric shocks are not strongly felt, but light tingling sensations are felt. This situation is considered the norm, but security measures are still worth taking.

Why you shouldn't do grounding and DSPP in the TN-C system

So, we come to the point that grounding is necessary. However, in houses built before the mid-90s, implemented
TN-C system. This means that the conductor of a working deaf-earthed zero also performs a protective
function PE (earthing). Therefore, it is called PEN (protective zero PE + working zero N) and throughout its length
from the transformer substation, and to the floor panel - it is not divided. Therefore, there is no grounding in the floor board, there is
only PEN bus. Connection of the protective (third) conductor of the apartment wiring to the PEN in the floor panel
called "zeroing".

I do not want to pour a lot of water on this, it is worth taking a look at the pictures below. Principle demonstrates the consequences
damage to the PEN conductor. The pictures show zeroing in the switch box (I strongly do not recommend doing this),
however, they demonstrate the essence - safety will not be greatly increased from zeroing in the shield.

It is worth noting that the burning of zero at a transformer substation, which electricians are afraid of, is not the only one
reason to fear grounding. The elementary contact of the floor switchboard with the conductive PEN core is very unreliable,
given more than a dozen years of operation.

The photo below is an example of an unreliable connection, just think: if
to zero electrical appliances in the bathroom to such a contact - if it warms up or oxidizes a little more and corps
all serviceable, "neutralized" devices will be energized by 380 volts!
After all, this is working zero
provides a voltage of 220 volts between one of the three phases and the PEN bus when contact with it breaks down on the floor
shield, then two apartments (or three) are sequentially connected to two phases (or three).

I hope I have given enough arguments for the reader to refuse zeroing. It is not sad, but high quality
grounding should not be counted before the reconstruction of the house power system. Until this moment, it's better to live without
grounding.

Some inquisitive minds may think: What if you make a zeroing and, in addition, build DSSUP in the bathroom? After all, even if on a protective
phase will appear on the conductor - there will also be phase voltage on all metal objects in the bathroom and for
there will be no conditions for the flow of current through the body!

Indeed, if on all conductive objects, including in the bathroom floor fittings, the
one potential - the person who is there will be safe ... Until he crosses the equipotential zone.
In addition, in such a situation, the neighbors will certainly suffer. Therefore, equalization of potentials in the apartment with
the TN-C system is strictly prohibited.
Naturally, use water pipes, heating pipes or fittings sticking out of the wall
also cannot be used for grounding.

So it is impossible, it is forbidden - so what about if there is no grounding in the apartment?

Incorrect troubleshooting methods

If you decide to cope with the problem on your own, you need to understand what actions it is not advisable to take. When "studying" the forums, along with competent advice, you can find the wrong recommendations of the "would-be masters"

So, do not take into account and use the following troubleshooting methods:

  • If there is no ground connection, you can simply insert the plug into the outlet by flipping the plug, and also cover the floors in the visit with a rubber mat. This method, of course, can stop single blows, but it will not solve the problem. Ultimately, electric shock to the user can still occur.
  • Stop the operation of the mains filter of the washing machine. This element is designed just to redirect the electric charge to the body of the machine. The inhabitants believe that turning it off will completely protect against electric shock when touching equipment.This opinion is erroneous, the risk will decrease only slightly.
  • Connect the grounding conductor from the automatic machine to the pipe or radiator. Doing so is very dangerous and can result in severe electric shock. Experts strongly discourage this method.
  • Lead the detached PE cable out of the shield. Remember, you cannot lead out a separate grounding conductor and plug the equipment into an outlet without "ground". The correct solution would be to remove a three-core wire from the distributor and connect a special, safe outlet to the cable.

Having found out the reason due to which the drum of the washing machine periodically shocks you, you can eliminate such a dangerous nuisance

It is important to make repairs consciously, observing all safety rules.

What shouldn't be done?

There are several tips that can harm human health, so it is prohibited:

  • touch the surface with both hands;
  • turn on the faulty machine until the malfunction is eliminated;
  • disassemble and try to repair the machine yourself;
  • ground the case through a water pipe or battery;
  • Disable the EMC filter, as the voltage on the case may arise from it, since this way it gets rid of the leakage current. But disabling it will burn the control board. So, it's about grounding.

The drum of a washing machine, as a rule, is made of stainless steel without a protective coating. Therefore, you can often feel an unpleasant tingling sensation when loading or removing laundry. To warn yourself against negative external influences, it is recommended to unplug electrical equipment from the outlet at the end of the wash.

So, if an electric charge is felt on the body of the washing machine, you must immediately turn off the equipment and use the services of a specialist. Only a highly qualified electrician is able to carry out a full check, determine the leakage current and find a solution to the problem. Any independent intervention is prohibited, as it can adversely affect human health.

Causes of the malfunction

Sign What probably broke What to do
Shocks and heating problems The heating element is out of order. The heating element needs to be replaced.
The machine turns the drum just as badly. Motor malfunction. Repair or replacement of the motor is required.
Shocks, but the machine is simply plugged into the outlet Broken line filter Replacement
Failure of the power button. Repair or replacement of a button
Faulty power cord Replacement
Damage to the wiring inside the washing machine. Find the place of damage and restore the insulation.

If, touching the washing machine, a person feels a slight electric shock, then electricity is leaking to the body of the device. There are several main reasons why this can happen:

  1. Defective wiring. During operation, the insulation of the wires can become thinner, crack and collapse, exposing the core. If such a cable comes into contact with the body of the device, a discharge will be transmitted to it. It is impossible to operate equipment with such a malfunction in order to avoid an accident.
  2. High level of humidity in the room. Water perfectly conducts electricity, and if you touch the device with wet hands or touch it while taking a bath, you can feel a tingling sensation at the point of contact. This is due to the lack of grounding in many (especially old) houses.
  3. Malfunction in the engine or heating element. If they fail, a breakdown to the case may occur.

Let us consider in more detail the causes of each malfunction and methods of dealing with them.

Damage to electrical wiring

Remove the cladding cover and then inspect the wires and terminal connections to make sure there is damage. Alert should be the bare cable touching the machine body, wiped insulation.You can fix the problem by applying heat shrink paste to the damaged area or insulating it with adhesive tape.

High humidity

This is another common reason a washing machine can be electrified. Here you need to observe basic safety measures: do not touch the case with wet hands and do not allow water to stagnate under the washing machine.

To reduce the level of humidity in the room, you need to install forced ventilation. Such a measure will not only help to avoid electrical injury, but also reduce the likelihood of corrosion of structural units and joints of the washing machine.

Defective engine or heating element

It is far from immediately possible to understand that the heating element is faulty, since the laundry will go through all stages of washing, but only in cold water. If the washing machine shocks through the cabinet, the heater should be checked for proper operation. To do this, you need to remove the back cover, disconnect the wires and check the resistance of the heating element with a multimeter. If it is absent, the defective element requires replacement.

If the motor is worn out, for example, brushes are abraded, a breakdown to the housing is also possible. Replacing this element is a time-consuming process, and in the case of old technology, it is also not always expedient. A master from the service department can diagnose such a breakdown.

Protection methods

In reality, it is difficult to exclude all the reasons that contribute to the leakage of electrical potential to the body of the washing machine. It will be much easier, faster and more reliable to protect yourself and your loved ones by installing special protective equipment.

Earthing

In accordance with the PUE, all electrical appliances must be equipped with grounding. This protection element has a special tap - both on the plug of the used device and on the socket. The complete set of the currently produced machines includes grounding.

It is possible to recreate the potential equalization system in a living room by connecting not only the washing machine to the ground wire, but also all metal elements (radiators and heating pipes, drain pipes, gas, hot and cold water pipes, an electrical outlet). For apartments, it is very problematic to design such protection due to the absence of a protective wire in typical apartment buildings. However, for private households, this task is feasible.

Each owner of the house can make a ground loop with his own hands, and then bring it to the switchboard. The contour is a group of metal or reinforcing pipes, steel corners up to three meters long, which are hammered into the ground and thoroughly filled with a foundation. This design is capable of consuming a load of 380 watts.

It is important to provide an additional wire from the shield to all the sockets available in the house when putting grounding into operation. The accumulated potential on the body of the washing machine and on other metal objects will be discharged to the ground by means of an electrical circuit recreated by grounding

If the appearance of the current is caused by problems with insulation, and its power is low, then there will be no particular danger to human health and life. However, in situations where leakage exceeds 10 mA, an RCD must be installed in the ground circuit.

Installation of RCD

Due to the fact that the washing machine is usually installed in damp rooms, it is impractical to use automatic protective devices - the latter react to significant current fluctuations (for example, during a short circuit). If the equipment is electrified, the value to trip the machine is not sufficient.

You can cope with this problem only by installing an RCD into the power supply circuit, which will react to the current in the earth conductor. This apparatus is more sensitive; it will shut down the operating equipment at the smallest amount of leakage of electrical charge.

The washing machine must be grounded

Any manufacturer of washing machines, during the design of their appliance, emphasizes that all electrical networks must be grounded. That is, your outlet must have three wires: phase, zero, ground. In fact, 90% of houses in Russia do not have grounding. Unfortunately, according to USSR standards, grounding was not necessary.

In modern construction, this defect was taken into account "on paper", but in fact, there may be no grounding either. No, of course you can find a ground wire in the sockets, but where it goes next and whether the grounding is really organized correctly at home, this is a big question. In our practice, we met hotels that were made according to all modern standards, and if you go down to the basement of this building, you can see all the grounding wires twisted into one knot, which just hang out and do not perform their function.

So what should we do? The first thing to know is if you have a ground connection in your home. Such information should be provided to you in the ZhEK. If there is a grounding in your house, then in the shield you will need to find the appropriate wire. In this case, your problem can be solved by laying a new three-wire wiring, where all the sockets will be grounded.

Never use water and heating pipes for grounding. In this case, if the device breaks down on the case, you can harm life and health not only to yourself, but also to your neighbors.

Of course, the issue of grounding is very difficult to solve, even if you have it in your house. After all, changing the wiring is not so easy, so we will have to get out of the situation in other ways.

Dangerous actions - you cannot do this!

What cannot be done? There are several prohibitions, which are dangerous to bypass, since violation of simple rules can lead to injury and death.

  1. Continue to use the washing machine if it shocks the cabinet, drum or other parts.
  2. Grounding the machine through the mixer, throwing the grounding wire over the heating radiators - this is how you divert the leakage current to conductors that can be touched by another person!
  3. Look for insulation faults when the machine plug is plugged into the outlet - the risk of getting an electric shock in this case is very high.
  4. Insulate wires and pads on your own, disconnect from the engine and heating element, disassemble the machine and dismantle the housing insulation elements.

The automatic washing machine operates under the control of a processor - it can turn on and off electrical circuits as needed. This means that leakage currents can occur at certain times, and danger can go unnoticed for a long time, until circumstances converge in the most unfavorable sequence - and you get an electric shock on the wet bathroom floor.

Main reasons

There are several reasons that can lead to the fact that the machine begins to be shocked.

Lack of PE wire

The main reason due to which the technique beats with current is the lack of grounding at the home wiring. Some people think that doing it is optional, but this is not the case. Even modern models of washing machines are calculated on the fact that part of the current from the capacitors will flow into the grounded system. In the absence of grounding, electric current will accumulate on the case. If you touch such a structure, you can feel a tingling sensation.

Violation of insulation or integrity of wires

Sometimes, when connecting equipment, poor-quality wires are used, which are easy to damage. If the integrity of the wiring is broken, there is an electric shock when you touch the case. Therefore, before using the washer, you must carefully examine the insulation of each wiring. If any mechanical damage is found, the damaged wire must be replaced with a new one.

The power button or the control unit is short-circuiting

All modern washing machines are equipped with special control units that simplify the use of equipment. If you use the washing machine for a long time, the control unit and the buttons that are located on it begin to shorten. This leads to the fact that a voltage appears on the metal case.

To get rid of the problem, you will have to disassemble the front panel and fix the short circuit.

Faulty mains filter

There are times when problems with the machine appear due to a breakdown of the mains filter. It can break due to a sudden power outage or due to temperature changes. To get rid of the malfunction, you will have to disassemble the filter and look for a breakdown in it. You can also replace a broken surge protector with a new one.

Breakdown of heating element

It is no secret that warm water is drawn into the drum of the washing machine, which is heated with a heating element. Sometimes this heating element breaks, and people get tingling when they touch the surface of the machine. We'll have to disassemble the back panel and replace the heating element with a new one. You can do this yourself or seek help from a specialist.

Engine breakdown

This is a serious malfunction that most often occurs with older models of typewriters. If a breakdown of the engine appears, the equipment begins to beat with current only after the start of the wash. Some people repair a burned out engine, but this is an expensive job and therefore it is easier to install a new engine or purchase a modern washing machine.

Outlet contact problems

It is known that all washing machines are powered by an electrical source and are therefore plugged into electrical outlets. Some people do not properly connect the plug to the outlet, which causes the body of the equipment to begin to shock with an electric shock. Therefore, it is necessary to check in advance how well the machine is connected to the outlet and whether the contact is broken.

Malfunction of individual units

In the case when the cause of a slight tingling is a malfunction of individual nodes (the first and second of the previously considered cases), the only correct solution would be to seek help from specialists. Indeed, in order to prevent further destruction of the electrical wiring of the washing unit, it will be necessary to organize a thorough check of its entire electrical part for integrity, which can only be carried out by specialists and only in factory (laboratory) conditions. Based on the results of this check, the demolished wiring elements must be replaced with new ones.

Exactly the same actions must be taken in case of damage to its heating element or electric motor. Such a situation requires urgent replacement or overhaul with the replacement of all worn out units of the working scheme. Thus, in this case, your participation is reduced only to organizing the repair of faulty units of the washing machine by specialists.

Symptoms and solutions

Breakdown can be determined based on the place and conditions of the impact of electric current on the user:

  • shocks through water (not only when water is supplied to the washing machine, but also when the tap is opened) - indicates problems with insulation and electricity leakage through the water.
  • on contact with the body - indicates the interaction of the outer casing with the source of electricity;
  • when removing the wash from the drum - "speaks" of the violation of the integrity of the insulation of the electric motor, through which the drum rotates;
  • when walking (especially on a concrete surface) near a washing machine - indicates a leakage of electricity through the body or other element of the electrical network into the floor;

Important! De-energize the equipment before repairing the breakdown.

The following troubleshooting table lists typical failures and tells you what to do to remedy them.

Signs Typical malfunctions How to fix
Washing machine produces electric shocks when not in use Defective socket Unplug the wires from the socket, replace or repair the defective element
The integrity of the insulation of the power cord or wiring is compromised "Ring" the wire and insulation, replace or repair the "broken" wiring
Closes the "Power" key or control system, voltage appears on the case Unscrew and remove the front panel, repair the button or the system as a whole. Repairing an element that has become unusable is impractical, it will be cheaper to install a new control system
Broken line filter Dismantle and repair or replace the faulty part
Current flows from the power supply circuit to the washing machine body (due to the constant presence in a room with fluctuations in humidity levels) Change location or buy equipment with a higher level of moisture resistance
Poor water heating or no water at all, the body of the washing machine stitches the electric current during washing Broken water heating element (TEN) Dismantle the worn out heating element and install a new one
The washing machine has an electric shock during operation, the washing machine may not turn on Breakdown of the electric motor or insulation of the washing machine A burnt-out engine is often beyond repair, so it should be replaced.
The floor surface has an electric shock near the washing machine. The wire of the washing machine is damaged and water leakage is possible Identify the place of damage to the outer casing or wire, eliminate the damage.

Washing machine shocks: the main reasons

If your washing machine begins to be shocked, then this indicates that an electrical surge is passing through its shell.

There are many reasons, but experts identify 3 main ones:

  1. The presence of faulty wiring of the washing machine. If there is such a breakdown, then there is no point in using household appliances, since in any case you will suffer from severe electric shocks, especially if the contact of the wiring with the case becomes better. In order to remedy the situation, you will need to check all the wires of the equipment for integrity.
  2. The technique is constantly in a damp place. This is the most common reason because the washer is mainly installed in bathrooms, which is the dampest place. Of course, if you touch the installation with wet hands, it will not lead to good results. This trouble is inherent in all manufacturers of washing machines, of course, new models can beat less, but the problem remains. This situation can be called a manufacturer's mistake, because they believe that every house where the washing machine is installed has good grounding.
  3. A heating element or an engine in technology has broken through. If one of these parts breaks down, then the current will break through to the case, in such a situation it will be enough to replace the broken part with a new one.

If the car is shocked, you need to look for the reasons why this happens. As already mentioned, not only washing machines beat when touched, but also a refrigerator, a dishwasher, the system unit, sometimes the voltage may not allow washing due to the fact that current will flow into the water. This can be eliminated if you have identified the source of the problem, because if a woman says “I am electrocuted when touched,” this will not show you the main source.

If you live in a house and you have grounding, but there are rails installed nearby, then most likely it is the reason that you got an electric shock from a typewriter, because it is this fact that electricity breaks through. Therefore, before looking for the reason that the dishwasher in the house hit you, think about more global facts, for example, that you have a buy charge.

What cannot be done?

People who are ignorant of electrical engineering often look for advice on the Internet. Some of them are absurd and even dangerous. Here are some not the most helpful recommendations:

  • Disable the surge protector.The danger of injury is not eliminated.
  • Connect the ground wire to the radiator. This is very bad advice and increases the likelihood of failure.

To ensure that your washing machine is a source of comfort and not an electric current, take its connection seriously. By ensuring reliable grounding of household appliances and installing a protective device, you eliminate the possibility of injury.

Security measures

To reduce the risk of electric shock, the following safety precautions must be followed:

  1. Only touch the casing and internal parts of the unit with dry hands.
  2. Put the laundry in the machine and take it out after washing, after having disconnected the equipment from the mains.
  3. After work, leave the door of the machine open, or even better, wipe off the remaining moisture. Thus, it is possible to prevent the appearance of foci of corrosion, oxidation of contacts and damage to the integrity of the insulation, increasing the service life of the wiring.

Do not delay in identifying the cause of the malfunction. If it is not possible to determine the breakdown for a long time, it is necessary to contact the specialists, without waiting for the equipment to finally fail.

The owners of the devices do not always perform these simple actions. As a result, moisture gradually destroys the electrical system of the machine and breaks the insulation of the wiring. Taking care of the household appliance every time after washing will allow it to serve not only for a long time, but also prevent the leakage of current to the drum.

In order to maximally protect yourself from unnecessary exposure to electric current during the operation of the device, you must perform the following actions with the house electrical network:

  1. Install a device that performs a residual current function with a load current rating of 10 to 30 mA. It will react to even the smallest leakage current by cutting off the power supply to the panel.
  2. Create a system that balances the potentials of all household appliances in the apartment.
  3. Check the integrity of the ground. In some cases, the drum of the machine also shocks when the ground is connected. The problem may be damage to the ground wire. Find the breakage point, check the conductor and make repairs.

If you want to eliminate the problem on your own, you need to know not only how to fix the breakdown, but also understand what methods should not be used to eliminate it.

When a malfunction is detected, you should not perform such actions as:

  • if there is no earthing connection, insert the plug into the outlet by reversing the plug, or place a rubber mat on the floor. This method will not completely solve the problem, but will only prevent single electric shocks. As a result, the shock of a person is not excluded;
  • disconnect the mains filter of the washing machine. Its purpose is to direct the charge of electricity in the right direction. Stopping the filter does not protect against electric shocks when touching the drum of the device;
  • connect the ground wire from the washing machine to the elements of the heating system. This method is extremely dangerous and leads to severe trauma in case of electric shock;
  • remove a separate PE cable from the electrical panel. It should be remembered that you cannot carry out the conclusion of a separate grounding conductor, as well as use household appliances using a socket without grounding. In this case, the best solution to the problem would be to remove a wire consisting of three cores from the switchboard and connect an outlet that meets all safety standards.

When installing a washing machine, do not forget about grounding. When connected, even in the event of a breakdown, electric shock will not occur. You should also not forget about preventive examinations; in case of suspicious malfunctions, it is better to seek help from a specialist.

Small children must not be allowed to approach the operating device.It must be remembered that such a household appliance as a washing machine carries a certain amount of danger.
