Today I want to tell you about the H. Grossman limited "Grow Egg" dinosaur egg.
It so happened that a young paleontologist is growing up in our family. The dinosaurs impressed and interested the son so much that for a year and a half, toys and books on this subject have been the most desirable gifts for him. Having visited the store of the Fidget chain once again, I found quite interesting dinosaur eggs on one of the shelves with toys. First of all, I was very impressed with the basic idea - the egg had to be "grown" in order for it to hatch. It's much more fun than just opening it up and seeing what's inside, there is almost no intrigue. Secondly, the cost of such a toy is more than acceptable - only 315 rubles, in contrast to the same Hatchimals, to which my two-year-old is not yet mature enough.
The egg was packaged in a clear plastic wrap, through which it can be viewed before purchasing. His appearance is quite attractive and relatively believable.
The egg has a characteristic oval shape and a rather substantial size. The surface of the toy is smooth, the color "dinosaur" is a black speck on a white background. The egg has no extraneous odors, rather hard to the touch.
The appearance of the toy impressed his son very much, and when he learned that a very "real" dinosaur would hatch from an egg, his joy knew no bounds.
In general, the process of hatching and rearing a dinosaur is quite long in time. On average, everything should take about three days. But it took us a much shorter period also due to the fact that the son, in view of his age, does not yet have such patience and endurance.
So, we placed the egg in a saucepan with warm water (the dishes were chosen by the young researcher).
In water, you can see that the egg consists of two halves, the lower one is more dense, and the upper one gradually becomes softer under the influence of water. Also in the lower part there are two holes through which the egg was filled with water also from the inside, which contributed to the growth of the dinosaur toy.
12 hours have passed.
You will notice that a white precipitate has appeared on the bottom of the container. Therefore, it was decided to change the “hatching environment”.
Honestly, these 12 hours were not easy for all of us, especially for our son, he so badly wanted the dinosaur to hatch as soon as possible that he endlessly took out the egg and checked the integrity of its "shell". But after several explanatory conversations, the toy was left alone for some time.
Here's what we got after 18 hours.
Many small cracks could be seen on the surface of the egg. The son was incredibly happy about this moment, because it means that very soon a "miracle" will happen.
After 20 hours, the son could not stand it and began to carefully open the egg.
The toy inside the egg was slippery and soft. And also ugly and wrinkled. According to the instructions, it had to be raised for two more days. But the son was delighted with the dinosaur and categorically refused to part with it.
I also look in the morning))).
After a couple of days of enthusiastic games, the dinosaur was placed in a container of water for 12 hours and he began to look more cheerful.
His eyes cut through, the bumps smoothed out, but the tail did not grow. After drying, the toy became smoother, but soft to the touch, it does not have foreign odors, it does not paint.
To summarize, I can recommend the H. Grossman limited growing dinosaur egg for purchase. I'm not sure, of course, that schoolchildren will like the toy, but kids 2-3 years old will definitely be delighted with both its appearance and the very process of growing a dinosaur. This is a great way to engage in some relatively useful joint activity with your child, and it is also a great opportunity to introduce your child to the world of dinosaurs.
Even despite the fact that the quality of the final toy is not the best, it is worth its money, because the process itself is more important here, which, among other things, also trains the patience of the baby.
