The medicinal plant Tavolga, or Meadowsweet, belongs to the Rosaceae family. This plant is perennial, it looks quite attractive, it has bright carved leaves, and small white flowers are collected in panicles, spreading a very pleasant aroma during flowering. The flowering of the plant lasts two summer months.

Traditional medicine suggests using the plant as an astringent and hemostatic agent. Meadowsweet has a diuretic effect on the body, it is recommended to be taken by people with kidney diseases, diseases of the genitourinary organs, it is effective for dysentery, gastric disorders.

Meadowsweet can be found in traditional medicine recipes aimed at treating rheumatism, burn surfaces and ulcers. The plant is used as a sedative for insomnia, disorders of the nervous system. Meadowsweet is a part of teas recommended for diabetics.

For the preparation of decoctions and medicinal teas, dried and fresh flowers and leaves are used.

To refrain from using meadowsweet as a medicine should be people whose blood is characterized by poor clotting and those who have a tendency to constipation.
