Where can I get cuttings? They are now sold in regular flower shops, and can also be obtained from grape growers and nurseries. When harvesting cuttings yourself, you need to remember your goal. They are prepared in the fall by picking up the appropriate bushes. A number of requirements are imposed on cuttings:

  • Their length should be 8-12 mm .;
  • The vines should show no outward signs of damage;
  • Selected cuttings are placed in a pre-prepared trench, sprinkled on top with a layer of sand, the thickness of the layer should not be more than 10-15 cm;
  • The trench is covered with earth from above;
  • When February comes, the cuttings are taken out and cut, leaving several buds on each;
  • When the cuttings are prepared, they are soaked in water in which the growth regulator must be dissolved;
  • Cuttings are taken out of the water when the small cut made turns out to be a light green color, and a light, clear liquid should also come from it;
  • The upper parts of one and a half liter bottles are suitable as containers - they are filled with earth;
  • You need a filling of humus, sod earth, sawdust and sand at a ratio of 1.3: 1: 1: 0.5.

Here is the sequence of actions. Before planting, you need hot paraffin - the upper cut is dipped into it. Then the humidity level will always be at the right level. When the first shoots are obtained, additional organic fertilizers are applied. This is the answer to the question of how to plant grapes with cuttings successfully.
