Peppermint: growing on a windowsill

Peppermint, the cultivation of which in the garden does not require any special effort, will just as easily take root in a small box or pot located on the balcony, windowsill or even a desktop. This plant secretes certain substances that have a mild calming effect and help to some extent focus on work that requires a lot of attention and patience. Therefore, it is advisable to place pots with it not only in the kitchen, but also in the rooms of schoolchildren and students.

Peppermint, which can be grown at home even by an inexperienced grower, grows best on fertile soils. To fill the pot in which mint will grow, you should use soil well fertilized with compost or humus with a slight admixture of wood ash, while the pot itself must be placed in sufficiently illuminated places. However, even if it does not stand on the windowsill, but on the table, the plant will also feel quite good. It is also important to plant individual bushes at a sufficient distance from each other: if mint grows in a box, about thirty centimeters should remain between individual plants, and one bush should be planted in pots.

Caring for this extremely unpretentious greenery comes down, first of all, to its regular watering (the latter should be done at least once a week). Also, spring feeding with Energen's solution, loosening the soil in a pot and periodically removing weeds that may appear there will not be superfluous.
