Celosia: growing and care

Celosia, the cultivation of which is a rather unobtrusive and low-hassle business, has won a huge number of fans, both due to such unpretentiousness, and because of its extremely effective appearance. Flowers of various varieties of this plant are very different from each other in appearance, while each of them is unusual and beautiful in its own way. So, one of the types of celosia was named "cock's combs", judging by which it is easy to guess that its flowers are very reminiscent of the scallops of a bird.

The cultivation and care of which is very, very simple, is best propagated by seeds. The seed is planted in early April in small pots (it is best to use plastic disposable cups, which can then be cut open). Celosia is unstable before frost, therefore, it is planted in open ground quite late, as a rule, at the beginning of summer. At the same time, when transplanting, the cups are carefully cut and the plants are transferred into the soil along with the soil from the cup (this flower does not tolerate an ordinary transplant).

For this plant, structured, loose and fertile soil with low acidity is best suited. A landing site should be chosen warm, not in the shade and on a small hill, which will not allow water to stagnate, but at the same time protected from the wind. At the first time after planting, the seed should be watered very abundantly, and also do not forget about regular feeding, which should be carried out every ten to fifteen days.
