Ever-flowering begonia from seeds of February sowing
One of the most unpretentious ornamental plants is ever-flowering begonia. Thanks to the huge selection of varieties, it has long been popular. Ever-flowering begonia from seeds of January sowing forms tubers with a diameter of 2-2.5 cm, which are well preserved in winter.
Ever-flowering begonia from seeds of February sowing has tubers much smaller. Their diameter reaches only 0.5 cm. Sowing in March should be carried out in a greenhouse, then the tubers by the end of the growing season grow to 1-1.5 centimeters in diameter.
If begonia seeds are sown too early, by the time of transplantation into open ground, the plants are already overgrown, which leads to poor survival of seedlings and, as a result, loss of decorative effect. Elongated shoots form fewer flowers, flowering begins in early April right in the greenhouse.
Growing begonias with seeds initially requires the necessary level of soil moisture, so the container with the crops is covered with glass, shaded on top with not too thick paper, which is removed after the first shoots appear. The drying soil is moistened with a sprayer. Seedlings are provided with a sufficient amount of light and a temperature of + 21 + 24 degrees.
After the formation of 3-4 full-fledged leaves, they are dived, but extremely carefully, since the stems of the seedlings are very delicate.
A month later, the seedlings are planted in separate pots.
Beginning to plant begonias in the ground only at the beginning of June. Plants will gain color by this time, which will make it possible to form the appearance of their flower garden already at this stage.
