Eric's plant - eternal beauty
Eric's plant fascinates everyone who meets her. This plant belongs to the genus of Heather, and for those who are not versed in botany, that Erica and Heather are one and the same. But Erica is a very remarkable plant. First, it is an eternally green miracle. Erica's leaves resemble needles and are dark green and needle-shaped. Also, like the branches of conifers, Erica's young shoots are lighter in color than last year's leaves.
Erica blooms in either spring or autumn. Her flowers are able to maintain their decorative effect even when dry, and that is why it seems that Erica is blooming all the time. But this is not the case.
There are a lot of Erica species - more than 700 species. The massive growth of this wonderful plant can be observed in the highlands of Scotland. The romantic landscape of rugged rocky mountains, adorned in crevices with Erika's Colors, is striking in its majesty.
Erica can be grown both by seeds and by dividing the bush. For the successful, long-term growth of Erica on the site, you should choose zoned varieties, because different species of this plant may not survive in conditions of rather cold winters. Also, when choosing a plant, the growing conditions should be taken into account. Some species like neutral soils, some species like acidic soils, and some like alkaline soils. When planting Erica, it should also be foreseen that with a close occurrence of soil underneath or prolonged flooding, the plant may be affected by putrefactive diseases. Therefore, the place for this beauty should be sufficiently dry, well-drained. But Erica needs to be watered abundantly and regularly. Also, for its successful growth and flowering, it needs sunlight. In a too shaded place, the plant will stretch strongly, its flowers will become rare and inconspicuous.
Undoubtedly, Erica on the site is an unfading beauty almost all year round.
Good luck!
