Dichondra in the photo - silver waterfall

If you don't look closely, you might think, looking from afar, that there is an artificial waterfall on the site. And in fact, the dichondra plant in the photo imitates the falling water jets so beautifully and magnificently.

It belongs to evergreen creeping plants, it can form dense carpets. The length of the dichondra lash can be up to one and a half meters. Dichondra in the photo is often depicted in bloom, but its purple flowers are so inconspicuous that they cannot divert attention to themselves.

Dichondra can be grown not only as an ampelous plant in hanging pots, but also as a ground cover plant, it is well suited for creating a flat background.

The plant is not picky about soils, but prefers loamy soils with good drainage. It grows successfully both in partial shade and in the sun.

To form neat ampel compositions, the dichondra should be regularly trimmed. It does not require abundant watering, but their regularity is encouraged.

Since dichondra does not grow too quickly, try to care for it and save it in the winter so that you do not have to sow seeds every year. For central Russia, simple shelters for the winter are not suitable: so that the dichondra does not die, it must be brought indoors for the winter, watering should be reduced and good lighting provided.

To propagate dichondra, you just need to root the cuttings cut from it. Can be propagated by seed, but this is a more laborious method.

This plant looks very advantageous in rocky gardens, planted in tubs for indoor plants.
