Kobeya in the photo
Kobeya climbing is an ornamental plant that appeared in our area from Mexico. The plant belongs to perennial climbing shrubs, while its length can reach six meters. There are about 9 species in the genus Kobei. Due to the fact that our climate is different from the Mexican one, we grow cobea as an annual plant.
Kobeya in the photo looks very beautiful in any color. The flowers of this climbing shrub are bell-shaped. The flowering of kobei can be extended until the very frost if the plant is properly looked after.
When choosing a place to plant a kobei, it must be borne in mind that she loves a lot of warmth and light. It can successfully take root in partial shade, however, in this case, its flowering will not be abundant and prolonged.
It is best to plant the plant near any fence, then it can develop well, clinging to the fence, trellis, etc. with its antennae. The soil should be well fertilized, then the kobea will cover a large area rather quickly.
The main care for a kobe is feeding, as well as regular watering.
Kobei can be propagated not only by seeds, but also by cuttings. To obtain seedlings, seeds must be planted in the ground in a greenhouse or other closed room with certain conditions. The most suitable time is considered to be the beginning of March. In this case, it is recommended to germinate the seeds in advance.
In open ground, kobei can be planted in early June, and flowering will begin in July.
Kobei in the photo can serve as an excellent example of vertical landscaping of facades, gazebos, verandas, etc.
