Begonia care

Begonia is a rather graceful plant that blooms all year round. It not only decorates the room, but is also a kind of air purifier, absorbing harmful substances (therefore, after repair, begonia should take its place on the windowsill). It is because of the year-round flowering that begonia care is somewhat specific.

Begonia: care, the nuances of home care

  • it is impossible to spray begonia leaves - they will become covered with spots and rot very quickly, but it is necessary to humidify the air;
  • the temperature regime for begonia must be stable - it does not like drops, near batteries or other heaters - it is also not the best place for this plant;
  • the ideal temperature for comfortable growth of begonia is 20-25 degrees in summer and not lower than 15 degrees in winter;
  • begonias must be trimmed if they are thrown randomly;
  • the begonia should be transplanted after flowering in the spring, the bottom of the pot should be covered with pebbles or shells;
  • the best solution in choosing a pot for begonia will be a ceramic pot - it does not allow waterlogging and allows air to pass through;
  • begonia propagates both by cuttings and seeds. Cuttings can be transplanted at the beginning of summer - into fertile soil, covered with glass (you can use a jar), after a month, if the plant has taken root, it can be transplanted into a pot. To begin with, it should be small, and when the begonia grows, transplant it into a spacious container;
  • it should be remembered that begonia does not like direct sunlight and is very sensitive to fungal diseases, so it should be watered only after the soil has completely dried out.

If the begonia care is correct, it will delight you with its flowering all year round.

Begonia is a very beautiful flower. I have long dreamed of having it on my windowsill, but I was afraid that I would not be able to cope with it. As far as I understand now, it does not require any unthinkable care!

Nobody knows the name of the begonia variety that blooms with pink flowers? True, my begonia has not bloomed yet, but the seller promised that it would be so!
