Euphorbia is the most beautiful - a long-awaited Christmas guest
The most beautiful Euphorbia (aka Poinsettia, aka Christmas Star, aka Euphorbia) is quite suitable for a novice florist and diversifies the flower beds of a specialist with experience.
The native land of this plant is the Mexican tropics, which explains its love for warmth, moisture and bright lighting. Poinsettia was originally grown as a shrub outdoors. But breeders, armed with knowledge and chemicals, have reduced the size of these bushes to 35-45 cm, which made it possible to grow them at home.
The most beautiful euphorbia fell in love with its original colors. The main leaves are saturated green, and the bracts (what is mistakenly considered flowers) have a variety of bright colors: red, white, pink, but certainly bright.
How to make the most beautiful euphorbia bloom again and again?
- After the plant has finished blooming, usually in February, watering is reduced. After the leaves fall, the stems are cut off, leaving 10 centimeters from the soil. The pot is hidden in a dark and cool place, almost no watering during the entire dormant period.
- In April-May, it is exposed to a sunny place, watering is resumed, transplanted into a larger pot and awaiting shoots.
- Lighting has come to the fore since the end of September. In the early evening, the flower is covered with a dark cap (black bag, for example) for up to 14 hours. This period lasts 8 weeks, and then the care is normal.
By the Christmas holidays, subject to all the requirements of care, the most beautiful euphorbia will bloom again. The main thing is to give him a full well-deserved rest, to ensure a period of rest.
