How to grow pepper on a windowsill
Some vegetables, oddly enough, can be grown even in an ordinary apartment. It is not necessary to have a garden plot to delight yourself and your family with healthy vegetables, grown by your own hands, and not bought in a store.
If you collect information a little and make a little effort, then, for example, such a thing as growing pepper on a windowsill will not seem impossible.
You can grow sweet peppers, and bitter, pungent ones on the windowsill in an ordinary apartment. If you decide to start growing both bitter specimens and sweet ones, then the plants need to be placed away from each other. This is necessary so that different varieties do not get dusty.
How to grow peppers on a windowsill
To grow peppers in a room or balcony, you need to take into account that the plant is thermophilic, likes good lighting, sufficient watering. Not only the warm season is suitable for cultivating pepper, it can also be grown in winter, but additional lighting is required.
In order for the pepper seeds to germinate faster, they must first be soaked. The seeds are placed in a damp cloth and kept at a temperature of about +25 degrees for 2-3 days. After that, seeds are planted in the prepared soil and watered with hot water. Seedlings can be expected in about a couple of weeks from planting.
Caring for peppers on the windowsill includes regular watering, periodic feeding (especially during flowering and fruit laying) and loosening the top layer of the substrate.
Water the pepper bushes with warm water. Make sure that the pepper does not burn in direct sunlight and does not suffocate on the loggia that is too hot by the sun.
We took the seeds of a special pepper for growing on the windowsill, planted it in the ground without presoaking it, watered it with settled water at room temperature. When grown in a pot, we did not light up the pepper, but it grew and bore fruit quite normally.
