Good day! Excellent weather for work in the country. It's a pity that you have to sit in the office in the midst of spring. But, fortunately, my work allows me to dream and plan how I will take care of my plants and decorate the garden and home.
As a rule, people pay very little attention to the porch, but it can be decorated very beautifully, so that it becomes the accent of the whole house. I decided to collect 7 ideas for decorating it. I think if you bring some of them to life, the whole house can sparkle with new colors.
Flowers on the porch
In Europe, this method of decorating verandas and stairs is very popular. Especially in small, quiet cities, from which and breathes coziness. I saw this in the villages of France and Luxembourg. Of course, you can say that using such pots right on the stairs is not very practical, because they interfere with the passage. However, if your porch is wide enough, this design can make the entrance to the house fabulous and cozy.
If the porch is too small, then the following decoration option will suit you.
Hanging pots and flowerpots

If the porch of your house is very small, then you can always decorate it with flowers in hanging pots or twine something. However, I do not recommend using grapes for these purposes. The fact is that it quickly crumbles and weighs quite a lot, the wall of the house may simply not be able to withstand it! But light, airy ivy is a great option. I myself use it in my country house and balcony. By the way, it can be of all kinds and varieties, just a feast for the eyes.
If the size of the porch allows, then you can put two beautiful pots on opposite sides of the door. By picking up the same flowerpots, you can create a stunning entrance that will definitely surprise your neighbors and friends))) Almost a palace!
Benches
We are used to seeing benches in the garden or hallway. And on the porch there is rarely a need to sit. Moreover, in Russia, few people make such a large porch that a bench would fit there. But it can be placed along the wall, as shown in the first photo. Either make a small sofa where you can sit comfortably in the evening or just change your shoes.
Door signs
For some reason, this method of decorating verandas, which is very popular in Europe and America, has not taken root among the age audience in Russia. However, our young people actively use this method of decoration. Funny inscriptions, exotic materials, bizarre shapes. Maximum flexibility at minimum cost is possible here!
Bright doors
Why are all our doors in the country so huge, if not brutal? It is clear that in this way we want to protect our home from burglars. But, fortunately, crime in our country is decreasing, and the love of comfort more and more often outweighs fear. It's funny that I, a lover of light doors, myself am the owner of a heavy metal door in the country. While writing this article I decided to paint it bright blue! Surprisingly, even my conservative husband approved of this idea. So there will be something to do this coming weekend! And you join us!)
Rugs
But this decorative element is, first of all, functional. How many times has it happened that you slipped or even fell painfully from the dacha stairs, running up it? This happens especially often during the rain, when we are trying to quickly hide from him in the house. We bought a rug two years ago, and since then we have never fallen down) The husband just nailed it to the steps.
Please note that outdoor rugs get dirty quickly enough, and therefore it is best that it is rubber and not light.
Decoration depending on the season
Unfortunately, we only visit the summer cottage. Therefore, we do not have many reasons to decorate the entrance to the house. But if you are one of those who constantly live in their cozy house or cottage, then you can decorate the porch in the colors of the season. New Year, March 8, Valentine's Day, birthday, family holiday, Halloween - all these are great reasons to beautifully decorate the entrance to your house.
Do not look at the fact that in Russia it is not yet customary to decorate the porch depending on the season. When you start, this tradition will definitely be picked up by all your neighbors and friends! So go ahead!
