Increasingly, the owners of summer cottages and country houses are decorating their territory in country style. And this is understandable, because rural landscapes are mentally close to us. Not just a pleasant picture is created, but an image from childhood, filled with colors, impressions, serenity. Such a territory symbolizes the leisurely and coziness of village life.
One of the main signs of country style is slight negligence. This does not mean that chaos should prevail on the site, on the contrary, all the elements are carefully thought out and harmoniously combined with each other, but it seems that nature created everything around with minimal human participation. For the same reason, you should not strive for excessive accuracy, in particular, regularly trim trees. The site should look natural, so wildflowers, spicy and medicinal herbs will fit well.
Try to make flower gardens as variegated as possible, but it is better to avoid exotic plants. Landings can be separated by a wattle fence or a low picket fence. Several sunflowers will look beautiful along the fence, and old clay pots are put on its pegs. Of course, you can also set up a vegetable garden, it is better to sow greens, lettuce, pinnate onions in well-visible beds, they will complement the landscape. If your site is divided into zones, make arches between them, next to which you plant climbing plants.
Garden paths and adjoining territory
One of the main principles of country style is the use of natural materials, so do not use asphalt, concrete or paving slabs. When paving paths, a huge scope opens up for creative people. Natural stones, crushed bark, chips, sand - all this will perfectly emphasize the naturalness. The gaps between the stones, sown with lawn grass, look good. It will be correct to avoid straight, straight paths, they should be winding.
You can plant lilacs, jasmine or a similar crop near the walls of the house, and put wooden tubs of flowers near the porch. Flowers can grow not only in tubs - turn on your imagination! An old kettle, a boot, a leaky watering can, and similar items that emanate from good-natured country humor will do. If there are stumps on the site, they can also be adapted for flower beds. Such unusual flower beds bring shades of naivety and romance. If there are buildings on the territory, such as a shower, a toilet, a utility block, it is better to hide them behind climbing plants.
Relaxation area and garden decor
A place for outdoor recreation is best placed behind the house or in a remote part of the garden. This can be a shed or a gazebo. Pergolas covered with ivy, grapes, hops will provide pleasant shading. A hammock will look good.
There should be a lot of decor items, they create a unique atmosphere. As a decoration, you can use any old things - a rocking chair on the porch or open veranda, a watering can, a cart (by the way, you can break a flower garden in it), clay pots, wheels, wicker baskets, a rocker. It seems that some things were not brought to their place, but left here. Hand-made accessories are also suitable for decor. You can put a knitted pillow in the gazebo, leave a patchwork blanket on a rocking chair, place a straw scarecrow in the garden - all this will add additional charm.
A waterfall and garden lanterns will look organic. Classical sculptures, marble decorations and fountains will definitely not work. This does not mean that no garden sculpture will find a place in the garden, but it is better to avoid variegated plaster or plastic products.
Country style is the most economical and unassuming way to decorate your site, but very cozy, warm and picturesque!
