How I made a flowering carpet along my garden paths

Framing garden paths with flowering perennials is much more aesthetic pleasure than cold geometric shapes. Although, who likes what. If you prefer the scent of flowers to the severity of green space, then read on.

Flowers along the path

All work must be carried out in the fall. Having marked the edges of the track, it is better if it will make a bend. Remove the sod from both sides of the path, dig up the soil with compost, the fertile layer should be at least 5 cm. Protect the edges of the path with bumpers. Plant the plants in groups.

Flower bed in front of the path

Plant the following crops on the right: stonecrop (grow up to 60 cm, flowers are pinkish or purple umbrella type), Frekart asters (up to 75 cm, blue-purple) and bushy (20-50 cm, sometimes white, pink, blue). Half a meter from each group.

Perennial flowers
Sedum prominent, aster Frikarta, aster bushy

On the left, closer to the path, plant: Narbonne flax (grows up to 50 cm, blooms blue), large-flowered coreopsis (30-45 cm, flowers like the sun, pleasing from June until frost), gorgeous geranium (60 cm, blue with a purple tint ) retreating from each plant by 45 cm.Slightly further, in groups of 5 plants: New England asters (resemble daisies, grow up to 1.5 m, have different shades from white to purple and violet), large-flowered chrysanthemums (of various colors, grow to 1 m).

The following plants can be planted behind the bend of the path, alternating them in flowering time:

  • spring blooming - hellebore (25-40 cm, flowers are white, pink, red), obrietu (15 cm, orozovy to purple colors), yellow eastern doronicum (50 cm), tender anemone (anemone, 25 cm, white, pink, blue) ;

Pinch asters for a splendid bloom, pick off fading flowers as you walk along the path.
