The garden area includes zones of different illumination. We are all accustomed to believing that most of the plants love partial shade and cannot stand direct sunlight. But there are also flowers that feel great in the sun without losing their attractiveness. It is better to plant them not in open ground, but in pots and garden pots to regulate watering and soil composition. We offer 6 of the most popular types of such plants.
A million bells
Calibrachoa, also known as a million bells, has a huge range of spectacular hues, from white to deep purple. This flower looks great in almost any area of the garden in a hanging planter. Fruitful flowers attract beautiful butterflies, and with proper care they bloom wildly all summer. These plants are quite unpretentious, the only thing they need is regular watering and good drainage.
Verbena
Verbena is a wonderful garden potted plant that loves the sun very much and pleases gardeners with bright flowers from spring to autumn. It goes well with other floral arrangements, and its nectar attracts beautiful butterflies. The color palette of verbena is quite diverse: from bright red to purple. The plant is drought tolerant and needs only moderate watering. It needs good drainage, and like most other flowering annuals, it needs to be fertilized every two weeks.
Osteospermum
This flower came to our region from South Africa and is very similar to the Russian chamomile, only with multi-colored petals. The plant, due to its southern origin, is resistant to hot weather and bright sun. For lush flowering several times a month, the soil in the pot must be fertilized, if necessary, the plant can be pruned, although there are varieties where the stem height does not exceed 30 cm.
Brovallia
This plant has wonderful flowers with a velvety texture, rich blue-violet petals and a contrasting core. Brovallia, or shrub violet, goes well with almost all other plants in the garden, and its height is from 30 to 40 centimeters is great for using in the center of a mixed composition. It is not whimsical at all, but it needs protection from too strong wind and good drainage. With regular feeding, it will bloom all summer.
Pentas
Pentas stands out in an original way in container gardens. Bunches of star-shaped flowers are gathered in spectacular umbrellas, under which, sometimes, even green foliage is not visible. Also called Egyptian star flowers, these plants attract butterflies, especially the dark pink and red varieties. Pentas is absolutely unpretentious, grows well and blooms profusely even in hot weather and drought. In a pot, it should be periodically fed, then the flowers will delight from spring to autumn.
Petunias
Petunias are perhaps the most popular potted plants. They are found on balconies, open terraces, pillars, are completely unpretentious in maintenance, and their color palette is amazing. Petunias bloom in June and bloom until late autumn. For long-term lush growth, it is recommended to feed them once every one and a half weeks until the end of summer.
