Landing
Planting begins with improving the soil on the site, which requires digging the soil. Compost and mineral fertilizers in the form of granules are distributed on the soil surface. The site is preliminarily cleared of weeds, large stones and other debris.
The optimal time for planting is spring, when the ground is sufficiently warmed up. Usually planted in May, but this depends on the climatic conditions of the area. The climate of the southern regions is suitable for planting flowers in autumn, because it is at this time of the year that you can easily find strong seedlings, which will be taken before the onset of cold weather.
When choosing seedlings, it is better to give preference to those that have closed roots, but at the same time, all kinds of defects and rotting parts should be absent on the roots, in addition, the roots should be branched. It is necessary to ensure that the seedling does not have yellowed leaves.
Horticultural crops of this type are planted, keeping a distance of 50 cm; it is not recommended to plant crops at a very large distance from each other. But you don't need to plant very close, in crowded conditions the flowers grow poorly and are affected by fungal diseases.
The hole is prepared in advance. Top dressing is introduced into it, drainage is placed on the bottom. The depth and width of the hole should be 0.5 m. Drainage is done with expanded clay, gravel, broken brick. The substrate can be prepared from the following components:
- garden land - two parts;
- organic - three parts;
- peat - one part;
- sand - two parts.
Before starting planting, the roots of the roses must be held in water for 8 hours. It is necessary to check them, remove the defective ones and cut off the longest ones, and also shorten them, leaving 20 cm. Now the seedling is placed in a hole, spreading all its roots, and covered with earth. The root collar should be several centimeters below ground level. After the planting procedure is done, the plant needs to be provided with good watering so that it will take over soon.
Rose "Fairy", like other ground cover varieties, propagates by cuttings, layering and pinching. The most common breeding method is by layering. For this, the strongest shoot is chosen and, having dug a trench, the shoot is placed in it.
Description
A bush of such a rose has so many buds that you can't even see the foliage. This type of queen of the garden is to the liking of gardeners, because external beauty is combined with undemanding care and unpretentiousness. Such a flower can be both bush and ground cover. The rose blooms even in the absence of proper care.
A characteristic feature of "Fairy" is that the plant is very branchy and luxuriant. Over time, the bush becomes more voluminous. Its height is more than a meter, the shoots are powerful and strong. Due to the presence of such characteristics, the rose is often used to obtain new standard plants. The flower grows quite quickly and tolerates pruning well, which allows gardeners to make the desired shape of the bush.
Due to the fact that the bud has a rosette shape, it does not add weight to the bush, even if it blooms very profusely. Each bud is up to 6 cm in diameter. Some buds can form inflorescences.
The flowers are mostly pink, double to the touch. Each of them contains up to 40 petals. Under the influence of sunlight, the color fades. "Fairy" blooms later than other varieties. It begins to bloom in mid-summer and ends by mid-autumn. Blooms constantly, without pauses. The buds themselves have a subtle, subtle aroma.
Care
Fairy does not require any special care.It consists of daily watering for a month. Then the amount of irrigation is reduced, water is mainly supplied during periods of drought. One procedure takes up to 10 liters per bush. The best time to water is early morning or evening when there is no sun, otherwise the plant can get sunburn.
It is better to pour water into the very root, because if the liquid gets on the leaves, it can provoke the appearance of a fungus. For irrigation, you can use warm rainwater or settled water. In the autumn, the liquid is not supplied to the plants in order for the roses to prepare for winter.
After watering, a mulching procedure is carried out, this helps to reduce moisture evaporation and reduce weed growth. Sawdust or black covering material can be used as mulch.
Another step in caring for a rose is feeding. The first time fertilizers are applied as soon as the covering material used to protect plants from frost in winter has been removed. The next fertilization time is the bud formation period. At this stage, phosphorus and potassium are added.
