Differences in care in different climatic zones
Rose variety "Maiden Dreams" grows up to three meters and requires a solid support. It must be installed immediately after planting. (photo - Nikitsky Botanical Garden).
If the rose is originally planted correctly in rich fertile soil, then its cultivation in all areas is the same:
- Watering,
- Top dressing,
- Preventive protection against diseases and pests.
Differences in the need for shelter for the winter. In the sixth and fifth climatic zones, the rose successfully tolerates the cold period without wrapping. Starting from the fourth zone, protection is required.
Roses are prepared for shelter like this:
All materials are similar in purpose, but differ in properties. Each of them has a different thickness and density, as well as reflectivity. For example, AgroSUF has the greatest protection against sunburn. It contains special fibers that reduce the ultraviolet effect.
Dignity of the queen of flowers
The main advantages of the Versilia variety include:
- prolonged abundant flowering from late spring to the onset of cold weather;
- pleasant delicate vanilla aroma of blossoming buds;
- rare color of petals - peach with pink tint;
- bushes - quite compact, of medium height, fit well into group plantings;
- the Versilia rose variety was created for cutting; it lasts up to two weeks in bouquets;
- tolerates cold up to -16-18 degrees Celsius without shelter.
Of the shortcomings, florists note the following in reviews of the Versilia rose:
- the variety is quite picky about care, it is necessary to carry out sanitary and formative pruning of bushes, treatment with fungicides and insecticides against diseases and attacks of "harmful" insects;
- in frosts below 15 degrees Celsius, it is necessary to cover the bushes, protecting them from freezing.
Care
Rose "Hendel" must be watered regularly. As a rule, irrigation is done a couple of times a week. The amount of liquid is adjusted according to weather conditions
It is important to regularly inspect and make sure that the soil remains in optimal condition: it does not dry out and does not flood. After planting the plant, it is important to fertilize about six times before it starts flowering.
It is best to use manure or mineral complexes.
While the rose is blooming, top dressing is optional. In the fall, before wintering, you can add a potassium complex. To prevent the development of diseases, "Hendel" is recommended to be treated with a 3% solution of copper sulfate. Insects will be scared off by purchased insecticides. The prophylaxis should be repeated at the end of autumn. If the rose does get sick, then the treatment will have to be done with the help of fungicides. It can be Bayleton, Ridomil Gold, Mikosan or Albit.
Pruning of climbing plants is carried out in the fall. All shoots are shortened by about one third. All dried, diseased or damaged parts must be removed without fail. In the spring, when the rose emerges from hiding, it should also be examined and freed from elements that have not survived the winter. Throughout the season, dry or spoiled shoots are regularly checked and destroyed.
