Planting and leaving
If it is planned to pre-germinate seeds in containers with soil, then it is better to start doing this from about February to the end of March. The earthen mixture should be moist and loose. It is also recommended to disinfect the soil with a solution of potassium permanganate. Before germination, you need to maintain the level of lighting and moisture.
Somewhere on the fifth or seventh day, the first shoots will already appear. And after the real leaves appear, they begin to dive. When future petunias grow up enough, they are transplanted into special pots or directly into flower beds on the street.
Planting petunia seeds in a container can be a little problem. This is because the seeds are quite small and difficult to sow carefully. A clever way comes to the rescue - sowing seeds in the snow. Snow is laid on the ground prepared in a pot in an even layer. Seeds are placed on top. When the snow melts, they will penetrate the soil along with the water. To facilitate the work of gardeners, you can find pelleted seeds on sale, they are more comfortable to sow.
Adequate watering and regular feeding (about once a week) will ensure long flowering. Preferred fertilizers: potassium monophosphate, potassium nitrate. Any varieties of petunias love abundant watering, but stagnant water at the roots leads to the death of plants.
Withered buds are usually removed to stimulate a fuller bloom. You can pinch the top of the plant and it will branch more strongly.
