Chrysanthemum Anastasia: characteristic of the variety
Every year, a huge number of hybrid chrysanthemums appear on the market, differing in an incredible variety of shapes and colors. Nevertheless, breeders from time to time manage to create something truly unique.
The single-headed large-flowered chrysanthemum Anastasia is one of such floral novelties of the last decade.
Thanks to the huge fluffy radial inflorescences, she plays the first violin in any bouquet and does not tolerate competition next to her.
Chrysanthemum Anastasia: botanical characteristics
In recent years, it has become especially fashionable to create so-called flower "families" in which varieties of chrysanthemums are presented, identical in appearance and shape of inflorescences, but differing in the color of the petals. "Anastasia" belongs to just such a family of single-headed large-flowered hybrid chrysanthemums, grown all year round in greenhouses for cutting.
The variety is relatively new (it appeared in 2001), but it is already popular in the preparation of bouquets, since it has good stability during cutting and is able to stand in a bouquet for up to 3 weeks.
In greenhouse conditions "Anastasia" blooms 3-4 times a year, and outdoors for about 30 days from September to October. But since it is thermophilic and does not tolerate frost well, it requires favorable climatic conditions to grow outdoors, such as in the southern Russian regions.
This chrysanthemum got its name in honor of the youngest daughter of the last Russian emperor, Grand Duchess Anastasia.

Under favorable climatic conditions, when summer pleases with hot days and turns into a warm sunny autumn, chrysanthemums of the Anastasia family can be grown not only in a greenhouse, but also in the open field. If you follow the simple rules of planting and care typical for most varieties of chrysanthemums, it will delight you with lush and abundant flowering until the first October frosts.
"Anastasia" does not like dark places, dry land and abundant watering. This flower prefers cool weather and begins to bloom when daylight hours are reduced to 8-10 hours.
The plant can be left on the site until the onset of cold weather. Before the start of frost, it is advisable to cut it off, dig it up, place it in boxes and transfer it to the basement for the winter. If this is not possible, cover the trimmed bushes with spruce branches or special covering material.
Chrysanthemum "Anastasia" can delight you not only in the garden, but also on the window in the pot. In a cool room, it will continue to bloom. To make the flower feel comfortable, do not forget to feed it and ventilate the room.
In central Russia, the plant is not suitable for wintering outdoors. It is grown for cutting. Flowers can be used as an independent bouquet or as a harmonious addition to other plant species. With their help, you can create very beautiful and unusual compositions.

This variety is very stable when cut. In a bouquet "Anastasia" can stand, keeping freshness for 3 or more weeks. To extend the life of a bouquet, when drawing it up, the stems should not be cut, but broken, and subsequently, do not forget to regularly change the water in the vase.
