Tips for caring for norfin thermal underwear: washing, drying and detergents

Correct care

In order for thermal clothing to serve you faithfully for a long time, try to follow these simple recommendations:

Special laundry bags can be used

  • Try to choose the right detergent for your type of fabric. For example, washing thermal underwear containing wool with the “wrong” powder or gel can result in shrinkage of the garment up to 2 sizes!
  • Try not to wash very often - this will spoil the structure of the membrane fabric. But too rare cleaning is also harmful - dust, dirt, peeling skin will clog the tissue cells, making it difficult for proper heat transfer.
  • If you wear thermal underwear for intensive workouts, then it will be advisable to wash it after each. When worn, it should be washed no more than twice a week every day.
  • Surely, the manufacturer of the product or the seller warned you that washing can only be done with a special detergent for thermal fabric, the price of which exceeds the cost of ordinary powders, gels, and even more so for household goods. Otherwise, you will clog the pores of the fabric with the cleaner. The hostesses have long established that this is nothing more than a marketing ploy! To avoid mythical clogging, you only need to rinse the product properly (you can put an additional, double rinse in the machine).

Best liquid detergent

Never use steam cleaners with thermal underwear! An ordinary iron is no less harmful to him.

So we figured out how to wash thermal underwear in an automatic washing machine, as well as manually. Recommendations are absolutely uncomplicated and easy to remember

It is also important to remember to properly dry and operate the product. In general, it is quite unpretentious in maintenance: it is easy to maintain the proper type of fabric with practically available detergents - you do not need to buy special expensive products

Observe the frequency of washing, do not expose the product to high temperatures, dry cleaning, the effect of chlorine bleach, do not squeeze or twist it strongly. This will help your thermal clothing last as long as possible!

How to properly wash thermal underwear

Unfortunately, not everyone thinks about how to properly wash thermal underwear, and just throw it into the washer along with the rest of the clothes. However, this is a big mistake. After such a hygienic procedure, heat-saving products can lose their functions once and for all.

Therefore, before starting to wash thermal underwear, it makes sense to pay attention to the tag sewn from the wrong side of the garment. It usually contains useful information on how to wash and dry functional underwear, such as:

  • can the product be washed in a washing machine;
  • recommended water temperature for the hygiene procedure;
  • what detergent for washing thermal underwear to prefer;
  • is spinning allowed;
  • at what temperature ironing is allowed.

Expert opinion
Irina Kovtun

Only after all the recommendations have been carefully studied should one proceed to wet processing of functional underwear.

Below is discussed how to correctly do this manually and in an automatic machine.

How to wash thermal underwear in automatic mode

If thermal underwear is still allowed to be washed in a washing machine, you will need to take into account the following recommendations during the hygiene procedure:

  1. It is necessary to set the washing temperature in the range of thirty to forty degrees, otherwise it may shrink by one or two sizes.
  2. Thermal underwear can only be washed on a delicate cycle.
  3. If there is a fleece on the surface of the product, you will need to turn it inside out before sending it to the washer.
  4. Before washing functional underwear, it is best to place it in a special mesh bag designed specifically for washing delicate items. You can buy it at any hardware store.
  5. You need to fill the detergent container with liquid detergents, for example, Style Sport gel or Laska Active & Fresh. If you wash your laundry with regular powder, it will be very difficult to rinse it out of the fabric. It is also forbidden to use bleaches, stain removers and other active agents containing chlorine or alkali. If, nevertheless, it is necessary to give the original whiteness to the thermal underwear, it is allowed to use gentle bleaching agents, for example, Bos Plus.
  6. It is imperative to disable the spin function.

Is it washable?

To freshen up a thing, get rid of smells of sweat, perfume, food, remove stains, etc., you can only use water and detergent. However, a number of things have a sign indicating that they cannot be washed. What does it mean?

In fact, there are very few fabrics and materials that do not tolerate water at all. What things cannot be washed at all? These are mostly artificial and natural leather, suede, fur. If the thing consists in whole or in part of these materials, then it is undesirable to wet it. Also, you cannot wash things with trim or with any non-removable decorations: beaded embroidery, lace, pendants, etc.

In other cases, the clothes are unlikely to lose their appearance from the slightest wet. Rather, this sign indicates that the material is very delicate and requires the most gentle cleaning methods, and the dry one is the most gentle. That is, the manufacturer believes that dry cleaning will extend the life of the product. With the help of such a label, the manufacturer protects against possible claims to the quality of the item (for example, if it shrinks or fades after washing in warm water)

In this case, most of the attention should be paid to the composition of the fabric. It is this point that will help you understand whether it is possible to wash things if washing is prohibited.

Materials such as silk, cotton and wool and most synthetics are easy to get wet. Another question is how exactly they need to be washed so as not to damage them.

How to wash thermal underwear - the choice of means

Thermal underwear is in close contact with the skin, so choose your detergent carefully. To prevent the granules from getting stuck in the fibers and irritating the skin, it is recommended to use liquid detergent or any kind of detergent. They are easier to wash out, do not damage the fabric and retain thermal insulation properties.

Examples of suitable detergents for thermal underwear:

  1. Laundry soap. The bar costs 30 rubles. Dissolve the soap in water to form a cloudy solution. Rubbing dirty places is not recommended.
  2. Shampoo. The liquid product perfectly washes away oil and skin particles. Suitable for washing merino wool. Choose a shampoo that is free of staining particles. The cost is 70–150 rubles.
  3. Liquid powder. The line is suitable for delicate items (silk, wool) or children's clothing. The composition should be free of optical brighteners, conditioner and chlorine. The basis of such powders is soap and herbal ingredients. A 0.75 liter bottle costs 250 rubles on average.
  4. Dishwashing gel. It costs an average of 65 rubles. Dissolves greasy stains, wash away traces of sweat. It is enough to add a couple of drops to the water. Better to use clear or white gels to avoid staining the fabric.

Choosing detergents

Care should be started by decoding the label on the product, where the manufacturer will tell you how to properly care for the product.

After purchasing, immediately determine what material the linen is made of, then select the detergent.It is better to use special synthetic detergents, where the instructions contain a note “suitable for thermal underwear”.

For natural cotton

Eliminate dry cleaning and treatment with chlorine stain remover or bleach. When washing by hand, all dirt can be removed with laundry soap completely dissolved in warm water. Only after soap is it necessary to rinse the product thoroughly.

Wool blend fabrics

If the fabric contains even a small amount of merino wool, it must not be treated with bleaching agents, especially those containing chlorine. Better to use a special gel, wool powder or baby soap.

For polyester

But the polyester material is the most unpretentious in the choice of a washing product: it is perfectly washed with laundry soap, ordinary washing powder, it is afraid only of bleach.

Home dry cleaning

If the item cannot be washed, then it can be cleaned at home without resorting to dry cleaning services. This procedure will be an order of magnitude cheaper, and the results will be no worse than professional treatment.

You can purchase a dry cleaning kit at your local hardware store. It includes scent sheets, stain remover and cleaning bag. Almost any clothing can be cleaned with this kit.

However, when buying, you need to pay attention that different substances are used for leather and textiles. Information on the purpose of the kit can be read on the label

This kit is a great way to clean things that cannot be washed. However, it will be effective only with light pollution.

Separate stains are removed first. To do this, use a stain remover. It must be used strictly according to the instructions. To make sure it doesn't harm your laundry, use it in a small and inconspicuous area.

After removing stains, you need to refresh the whole thing. To do this, they put it in a bag for dry cleaning, and the aromatic leaves are sent there. The required amount will also be indicated in the instructions. A small amount of moisture will evaporate from the sheet, and a pleasant aroma will saturate the thing. This will freshen up your clothes a little.

Then the bag with aromatics and linen is placed in the dryer and set to the minimum temperature. The mode is chosen delicate. At the end of the cycle, the bag is removed from the dryer.

The linen is taken out of the bag, the aromatic sheets are removed. Then the clothes are hung on a hanger to straighten it.

Rules for care and use

Thermal underwear should be maintained regularly, since the contaminated membrane layer ceases to perform its unique functions. The structure of the cells of the material is as close as possible to the structure of the pores of human skin; in its pure state, the material completely copies the natural heat exchange. When the combs are clogged with dust and keratinized particles of the epidermis, thermal underwear ceases to be comfortable.

The staleness of ordinary things is determined by smell, but the structure and interweaving of the fibers of the fabric in special clothing does not allow the “aromas” of the body to linger. You need to focus on the intensity of the wear:

  • wash sports models after training or other physical activity;
  • for everyday wear, care is recommended every 4 days;
  • outerwear often does not need to be washed.

To prevent unique things from losing their properties, it is important to follow the general rules:

  1. Do not use substances containing chlorine.
  2. Wash and clean brushed thermal underwear from the wrong side.
  3. Do not twist the fabric or spin.
  4. The optimum water temperature for washing is 30 ° C.
  5. It is forbidden to use granular powders, as its small particles are clogged into the cells. You will not be able to rinse out the detergent completely, so contact with skin will cause irritation.

Manufacturers of thermal underwear recommend that you carefully study the instructions and labels on things, where the basic principles of care and operation are indicated in the form of a cheat sheet.

A few preliminary recommendations

  • Ideally, wear disposable gloves and throw them away after each use. When using reusable gloves, only use these gloves to clean and disinfect surfaces contaminated with COVID-19, do not use them for any other household use. Wash your hands immediately after using gloves.
  • If you do not use gloves when handling dirty laundry, be sure to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water after that, for at least 20 seconds.
  • Try not to shake dirty laundry. Shaking the laundry can spread the virus through the air.
  • Wash items at the highest possible temperature, if possible for the particular item.
  • Use Drying Mode if your machine has this function
  • Dirty linen from a sick person can be washed with other people's things.
  • Disinfect the dirty laundry basket regularly

Main principles

The basis of the material from which thermal underwear is made is made up of synthetic fibers - polyester, polyamide, polypropylene, microfiber, lycra, fleece. To improve consumer properties, threads of wool, cotton, cashmere and so on can be added to them. In addition, many manufacturers use antibacterial impregnation to prevent unpleasant odors. Garments treated in this way retain their fresh scent even after intense training or several days of wearing on a camping trip.

The fibers of the thermal underwear are intertwined in a special way, as a result of which the fabric has a complex cellular structure. It provides moisture absorption, wicking, breathability and heat retention

In order to properly wash thermal underwear, it is important to understand that such a material requires special care, otherwise the fibers are deformed and all useful properties will be lost. In a separate article there is information about washing down jackets.

Fundamental rules:

  1. Thermal underwear care from different manufacturers may have their own characteristics. Before washing, be sure to read the information on the label or on the package. You should find out the recommended temperature for washing, ironing, the possibility of using the machine, the rules for spinning.
  2. In most cases, functional clothing should not be immersed in water above 40 ° C. Boiling is unacceptable. In addition, the fabric of thermal underwear can be damaged by the machine spinning.
  3. When solving the problem of how to wash thermal underwear, you should know that it is best to use special products (for example, Nikwax) or gel preparations (Gllorix, Bose, Laska, Sonett). Regular powders do not rinse well out of the fabric. Their particles can remain in the fibers, which will lead to the closure of the cells. Do not use stain removers, solvents and chlorine products.
  4. Thermal underwear can be damaged not only by improper washing, but also by its absence. Dust, sweat, sebum particles, epithelial cells and other impurities lead to clogging of the honeycomb, and the air permeability of the tissue is impaired. Let's figure out how often you need to wash your thermal underwear. The optimal frequency for sportswear is after each workout, for everyday wear - 2-3 times a week.

Handwash

If your garment has a sign warning you of potential problems when using the normal machine wash cycle, you can tidy the garment by hand. As a rule, there are not many such things in the wardrobe. But manufacturers warn that leather and down-feather products cannot be washed by hand, so this method is not suitable for outerwear.

Cotton, woolen and some synthetic wardrobe items, even with a special sign on the label, can be cleaned quickly and efficiently.

  1. Pour cold water into a basin. If it is hot or even warm, some types of fabric will shrink right away. Moreover, it can cause premature discoloration of the material.
  2. Dissolve laundry soap or gel for delicate fabrics in cold water. It is not recommended to use the powder, as it will be difficult to dissolve at low temperatures. Whisk the detergent into a lather.
  3. Then you should put clothes in a basin and leave for 3 minutes. Then you can lift the thing out of the water several times and lower it back. This will be the wash itself. Most often, the clothes are clean enough already on the second wash. If dirty areas are found, rub them a little.
  4. After that, all that remains is to gently rinse the fabric with plenty of clean cold water. You should not squeeze out delicate things; you can use a terry towel for this purpose.

Dry cleaning

This cleaning procedure for clothes and other items is carried out using chemical solvents. It allows you to remove stains that cannot or cannot be removed with a home wash.

Delicate fabrics can be dangerous to dry clean. It is better to purchase a special set and do the laundry at home. This includes stain removers, fragrances and a special bag. Dry cleaning is acceptable for many types of fabrics, and costs several times less than that of professionals.

It is worth noting that very few materials are used nowadays that would not tolerate water or washing powders. Most often, a ban on traditional washing can be found on the labels of things made of natural or artificial leather, suede and fur products.

General tips and tricks

Polyester items become dirty quickly due to their ability to attract dust. This is especially true for outerwear, sports, tourist equipment. Regular cleaning of products is required. If we generalize the conditions for washing polyester products, then they can be divided into 2 groups: how to wash and what.

For washing

For hand and machine wash, the water temperature should be in the range of 30-40 degrees. Higher heating must be approved by the manufacturer. Thin polyester items are washed in cloth covers.

By choice of means

In cold water, wash without powder, using conditioner, laundry soap. Dissolve liquid detergent or powder in warm water. Do not use products containing chlorine. The addition of fabric softener during rinsing gives the garments anti-static properties.

Ways to wash your backpack

At home, any backpack can be cleaned in one of the following ways:

  • machine wash;
  • handwash;
  • dry cleaning or using foam (suitable for all types, especially for products made of natural and artificial leather).

Machine wash

The method is suitable for soft backpacks that do not have metal or plastic frames and orthopedic pads:

  1. Close all zippers, buttons, Velcro, latches. This will protect the product from distortion and deformation.

Close zippers, buttons, Velcro on the backpack before washing

In order not to damage the accessories during machine wash, it is better to put the backpack in a special bag

It is better to wash backpacks in a machine, choosing a delicate mode without spinning

Handwash

Unlike a machine, this is a more gentle option. Therefore, it is applied to all products that can be washed in general, including for the care of tourist or frame backpacks.

Only hand wash is suitable for the frame backpack

  1. Fill the bath with warm water - about 10 cm in height, so that the backpack is completely immersed in the water.
  2. For washing, use any detergent, but preferably liquid.There are special detergents for travel backpacks on sale.
  3. Submerge the product in water to moisten it.
  4. Using a brush, sponge or just with the palm of your hand, apply the detergent to its surface, rub lightly. If the dirt is heavy, leave to soak for 20-30 minutes. The term can be increased up to two hours, but not longer, since water negatively affects any fabric.
  5. Poke the backpack up and down. You can rub it again with a brush or sponge if the dirt is not completely removed.
  6. Rinse the product thoroughly with a stream of water from the shower.

To protect the backpack from moisture, during subsequent use, you can additionally treat it with a moisture-repellent impregnation, for example, Nikwax TX.Direct. To do this, fill the bath with about 6 liters of water again, add 50 ml of the product, stir well and immerse the product in the solution for 10 minutes, and then rinse in cold water.

Wet cleaning with soap suds

The method is suitable for all products, including backpacks made of natural and artificial leather.

Leather backpack can be cleaned of dirt with foam

  1. Dilute the detergent in a bowl and beat well.
  2. Using a sponge, grab the foam without touching the liquid and apply to the surface of the backpack.
  3. Scrub the areas of the most stubborn dirt.
  4. And also with a sponge, rinse the product with clean water, remove the remaining foam.

What about washing in the machine?

As mentioned above, some trousers that cannot be washed (as indicated on the label) are completely machine washable and will not deform. Cotton or polyester fabrics will survive machine wash.

Things made from other fabrics (corduroy, wool or cashmere) should not be subjected to such processing, they will not withstand it. Throwing trousers into the drum of the washing machine, use gels or capsules as a powder (they deal well with dirt and are quickly removed from fabrics).

Give your preference to the delicate mode when washing takes place exclusively in cold water. Turn off the spin function. To get rid of excess moisture after washing, use a terry towel and work with it as described above. Note that if the washing process is carried out correctly, your trousers will not deform and will remain clean at the same time.

Take additional measures

There are a few additional steps you can take to maximize your chances of warding off the coronavirus when you wash your clothes.

Extreme temperatures and freezing temperatures can interfere with bacteria growth, so if you're washing your laundry in an automatic machine, take the extra steps and place your washed items in the dryer for 20 minutes to heat up and kill germs. Do not forget to add 200 ml of 9% vinegar to the conditioner tray in the rinse mode. For items that are too delicate for very hot washing, consider chemical treatment for a thorough cleaning.

The basics of proper care

In fact, keeping things in their original form is not such a difficult task if you adhere to the recommendations. The first thing the owner needs to do is study the information on the label. As a rule, the manufacturer places the necessary information on washing, ironing and drying there. The tag indicates the optimal water temperature and washing mode in the machine.

The second important rule is to wash clothes in a timely manner. Due to heavy dirt, thermal underwear can lose its unique properties.

What will be the care depends on the material of manufacture. Washing synthetics is different from caring for a woolen type of clothing. For the first type of linen, you cannot use chlorine-containing products, and for ironing you need to set the delicate mode on the iron.

Thermal underwear made of wool, like any other material, must not be dried near heaters, radiators or over a stove. In many ways, washing such clothes is similar to caring for high quality delicate items. However, drying in a washing machine will be fatal for any type of thermal underwear. The ideal option is a darkened glazed balcony, where you can arrange a draft and where the sun's rays do not fall.

The traditional "basin" method

Manufacturers directly recommend washing thermal underwear by hand. Because in this case, the care is more gentle. A detergent for washing thermal underwear is selected from stocks of ordinary laundry soap.

The whole washing process is as follows:

  1. Things are soaked in warm soapy water for half an hour;
  2. They should not be rubbed or wrinkled during washing. It is necessary to rinse it with gentle movements;
  3. Thermal underwear must not be wrung out. Excess water should drain naturally. To do this, clothes can be laid out on a dryer or hung on a hanger.

Under no circumstances should thermal underwear be boiled or exposed to strong cleaning agents. It is allowed to use mild stain removers, rinses, antistatic agents or conditioners.

Washing rules in the machine

You can wash thermal underwear not only by hand, but also in the washing machine. How to do this depends on the material of manufacture and the functions of the technique. If the washing machine has a "delicate" mode, then there will be no problems. You just need to remember that the water temperature should not be higher than 30 degrees.

In addition to setting the correct mode, silk support is needed. If such programs are not provided in the machine, you will have to wash the old fashioned way. And also you should set the mode "no spinning", otherwise the structure of things will be deformed.

There is nothing difficult in how to wash thermal underwear in a washing machine, if you follow the recommendations exactly and come up with your own methods. Even if your white clothes are slightly discolored, you don't need to grab onto bleach. They will only spoil the material, which will lead to the loss of its properties.

Suitable detergents

Correct washing of thermal underwear implies knowledge of two main nuances: what to wash and in what mode. Any mistakes in both the first and the second question will lead to the thing losing its properties and losing its appearance.

To begin with - what can not be washed:

  • any granular powder (usual dry) - its particles can break the delicate structure of the material, especially if the powder contains too active components;
  • laundry soap - its composition is aggressive for thermal underwear.

In order not to harm the product, you can use:

  • products intended specifically for washing thermal underwear - they not only cleanse it of dirt and odors without damaging it, but also strengthen the fibers, restore the breathable properties of the fabric;
  • the so-called "liquid powders" - washing gels with a much milder effect on textile fibers than conventional powder. Liquid detergents usually cope well with those stains that appear on thermal clothes;
  • antistatic agents, air conditioners - they are used for gentle care and do not harm things.

How to properly dry thermal underwear

Before washing your laundry, it is very important to study the care instructions on the label.

In order not to harm the quality of thermal underwear, it is recommended to follow certain rules not only during the washing process, but also during drying. One of the most important sounds like this: it is necessary to dry it exclusively in natural conditions, that is, it is forbidden to use any sources of heat. But other nuances cannot be left aside:

  • to avoid streaks on the fabric, rinse the item well in cool and clean water before drying;
  • for the fastest and highest quality result, dry laundry in a well-ventilated area;
  • it is best to hang the product on a rope and let the water drain on its own;
  • it is strictly forbidden to wring out the laundry;
  • this type of clothing is not recommended to be dried in the sun;
  • the temperature in the room where the laundry is hung should be no higher than room temperature;
  • ironing is not recommended.

Important! The ideal drying method is to hang the items in the fresh air, but not in direct sunlight. In the absence of such an opportunity, you can always use dryers and or clotheslines.

How often should functional underwear be washed?

Many housewives believe that thermal underwear should not be washed frequently. However, this is not quite true. Despite the fact that such products retain heat very well, they also pass air through them well. Intensive air exchange with the environment is achieved due to the special porous structure of the fabric from which the linen is made. If you do not wash it for a long time, micropores become clogged with particles of sweat secretions and dirt. As a result, the skin stops breathing and rashes appear on it. To prevent this from happening, the washing of thermal underwear should be carried out at least twice a week, and when playing sports - daily.

Expert opinion
Evgeniya Taran

It is worth considering that functional underwear made of merino wool is capable of independently resisting the dispersal of various microorganisms in the pores of the fabric. Therefore, experts recommend washing it a little less often - about twice a month.

The main rule that should be learned when determining the frequency of washing thermal underwear is that it should not be excessively soiled. Old stains cannot be removed from delicate fabrics in cool water. And when using a liquid whose temperature is more than forty degrees, the product will be completely damaged.

Features of washing some products

Washing fleece items directly depends on their type. In this case, it is worth considering a number of features.

Plaid

When washed by hand, the blanket retains its shape much better. If you plan to wash it in an automatic typewriter, you should follow a number of recommendations:

It is important to make sure that the product fits completely into the drum.
Do not turn on the spin function. Otherwise, the product may be wrinkled.
Dry the product in the fresh air or on the balcony

Doing this in a typewriter is prohibited, since the fabric is deformed.
Use conditioner while rinsing. This makes the fabric softer. Also, the composition helps to avoid electrifying things.
Do not use a clothesline for drying. After it, an inflection will appear on the blanket. In addition, the item will stretch unevenly.

Jackets and ski suits

To clean your ski clothing or jacket, follow these guidelines:

  1. First of all, you should read the information on the label. By following the manufacturer's recommendations, the loss of heat-insulating and water-repellent characteristics can be avoided.
  2. Use special formulations for sports membrane clothing. Ordinary powders or conditioners will clog the membranes and damage the protective layer.
  3. To dry products, they should be placed horizontally. This will help keep your clothes in shape.

Cleaning methods

The method of cleaning the thermal bag from dirt and unpleasant odors depends on the specific variety. Simple models that work only with the thermal layer can be machine washed. Models with batteries that are connected to the mains or a car cigarette lighter, of course, cannot be washed under any circumstances, otherwise the device will fail and may cause a short circuit when connected to electricity. When washing it is better to choose the manual option, but you can also use an automatic washing machine.

There are two main ways to safely clean the instrument.

First

The first way to clean an accessory is to machine wash it automatically.It is possible to wash the bag in the typewriter only if it does not have a battery connected to the mains. It is better not to use an automatic wash if the bag is new, as in this case the fabric and thermal layer will wear out quickly. The appearance of the accessory and its functional properties deteriorate. The washing temperature should be set no more than thirty degrees and do not include a strong spin.

Second

The second way to clean the accessory is to wash it by hand. This process is simpler and safer for the thermal bag. You will need a cleaner and a brush. The brush should be moistened with a cleaning agent and gently rubbed over the surface. It is more convenient to use a cloth to clean the inside. It is better to remove greasy stains with dishwashing solution. You can use citric acid to remove color stains such as fruit.

Washing advice

As a rule, all manufacturers indicate their recommendations for washing on the labels of the products. But, if it was accidentally cut off, or the information is written in too small print, then you can use the recommendations below.

For any thermal underwear, regardless of the composition of the fabric, it is necessary to observe the temperature regime. As a rule, the water temperature should be in the range of 30-40? С. Too hot water will negatively affect the fibers of the product. Under the influence of high temperatures, thermal underwear can stretch, the product loses its original shape, and its thermoregulatory properties disappear, since deformed fibers no longer form cells through which heat transfer occurs.

There are two ways to wash thermal underwear: manual and machine.

Machine wash

The easiest and easiest way is to machine wash the product. In order to avoid deformation of the fibers, you must turn on the delicate program. As a rule, in this program, the water temperature is set automatically and should be in the range of 30-40 ºС. If this function is absent, then the temperature mode is selected manually.

Machine wash is recommended for garments that contain more synthetic fibers, namely polyester and polypropylene yarns. It is also necessary to disable the spin function, as there is a possibility of damage to the product. When choosing a detergent for washing in an automatic machine, preference should be given to liquid substances that can be added directly to the drum with laundry. For better rinsing of detergents, it is better to turn on an additional rinse program after a complete wash cycle and drain the water.

Handwash

The manual method of washing is chosen not only because of the composition of the fabric, but also because you do not always want to wash one set in the machine, and it is unreasonable to mix it with other types of laundry. Washing by hand is troublesome, but in order not to spoil the thermal underwear, you will have to spend some time tidying up this not entirely cheap underwear. After all, good men's and women's underwear costs a lot of money, and therefore, in order for it to retain all its functions and serve for a long time, you will have to make some efforts.

There are several rules for hand washing:

  • The temperature regime must be strictly observed. Hand washing, as well as machine washing, should be carried out at a temperature not exceeding 40C. For wool products, the temperature should not exceed 30C. You can check the temperature of the water using a thermometer or in the old way, namely by lowering your elbow into a basin of water. At a comfortable temperature, the water will not burn your elbow.
  • The best detergent is a mild soap solution. To do this, grate the soap and place it in a small container with water. After the soap is completely dissolved, pour the resulting solution into a bowl of water and place a set of thermal underwear there.

  • Do not subject the laundry to rough mechanical stress, rubbing or stretching.After placing in a basin of water, the kit is left for a while. As a rule, 30-40 minutes is enough for all dirt particles to dissolve. After soaking, the laundry without spinning begins to rinse in cool running water. For items made from synthetic fibers, add a small amount of fabric softener at the end of the last rinse.
  • It is strictly forbidden to dry products with a "thermo" function in an automatic machine, since drying, as a rule, is carried out at a high temperature. Polyester and other synthetic fibers can melt at temperatures above 60 ° C, which means that the product will become unusable and will have to be thrown away.
