Features of fish aroma
All fish, to a greater or lesser extent, have a characteristic aroma, which appears for the following reasons:
- The fatty acids contained in the product are rapidly oxidized, which causes an unpleasant odor.
- Many species of fish are predatory. There are special enzymes on their bodies that make it easier to digest when they get to a larger individual. When the fish is caught, the enzymes remain on the fish's body, thereby accelerating spoilage and causing foul odors.
- Fish protein decomposes much faster than similar elements in other animals. The cold does not slow down this process, therefore, after a few hours, a characteristic aroma will emanate from the carcass.
> All this leads to the fact that when in contact with chilled fish, the unpleasant odor penetrates the clothes faster, but it is not easy to eliminate it. As soon as mucus or fillet pieces get on the shirt or trousers, steps must be taken to get rid of the specific aroma.
How to prevent foodborne contamination?
Food poisoning is an unpleasant disease that often occurs through the fault of the housewives themselves. Compliance with the rules of hygiene helps to avoid unwanted consequences and warn family members from illness
Housewives need to pay attention not only to eliminating unpleasant odors after cutting food, but also to disinfect kitchen utensils.
A common cleaning method is washing with a detergent and then rinsing with running water. The method is simple, but does not guarantee complete disinfection. This method will not work to remove bacteria from microcracks. Often women wipe the surface with a dry towel after washing, which is absolutely impossible to do. This process promotes the spread of microbes. Dry the board vertically.
An effective way to treat a wooden cutting board is to soak it in a chlorine-based detergent. After 30 minutes in the solution, the surface must be rinsed and allowed to dry, placing it vertically. To prepare 5 liters of solution, you need to take no more than 1 tablespoon of the product. Safer remedies are soda and hydrogen peroxide. The ways to use them have been described earlier.
Fresh lemon helps to disinfect the surface and at the same time remove the foreign smell. To do this, rub the board with half of the fruit and let it sit for a few minutes. After that, the surface needs to be washed and dried. Table vinegar, which every housewife has, has a similar disinfecting effect. Before processing a wooden or other cutting board, it must be pre-washed to remove food residues.
It is possible to get rid of the unpleasant aromas of the cutting board and, as a rule, every housewife has the necessary means. Also, when choosing kitchen utensils, you need to take into account the characteristics of the materials and remember that in any case they need to be looked after. It is recommended to use different boards for cutting food in order to exclude the absorption of odors. Every time after cutting, the kitchen utensils must be carefully processed and unpleasant odors will not appear.
Getting rid of the smell of sweat
Even if you get rid of the reasons causing the sweat smell, this does not mean at all that it will never stand out more. This is one of the protective systems of the human body, laid down by nature itself. Therefore, the aroma will still arise. The easiest to use are deodorants and antiperspirants. They practically do not remove sweat itself, but this method helps well to remove the smell. The main problem is how to remove sweat odors from clothes under the armpits.
On the other hand, this is the easiest method to remove the smell of sweat from a coat. You can achieve a similar effect yourself. Just wash your clothes with perfume powder - in less advanced cases, this helps a lot. So how do you get the sweat odor off your clothes under your arms?
There are quite a few ways to get rid of the smell during washing:
- add soda and vinegar directly to the drum;
- chlorine-free stain removers (suitable for colored items);
- increased dose of powder;
- special products designed specifically to combat the smell of sweat.
How to remove the smell of sweat from a leather jacket is also worth talking about separately. Leather is a very sensitive material, so the smell of sweat cannot be removed without washing. Regular washing can also fail, as the leather absorbs odors instantly. You need to act carefully so as not to spoil the thing. First, the jacket should be soaked in warm water. You need to add a glass of vinegar to the basin, and then leave the wardrobe item in this liquid overnight. In the morning, the jacket needs to be taken out, squeezed out a little and left to dry completely. After that, the jacket must be washed in the gentle wash mode using liquid detergent.
There is another problematic wardrobe item - it is not so easy to remove the smell of sweat from a jacket. Here ammonia will come to the rescue. It is mixed with vodka in a one-to-one ratio. The resulting solution must be treated with contamination, and then rinsed with water. Some manufacturers allow their jackets to be machine washed, but at a low temperature.
Laundry soap
Laundry soap can easily and quickly deal with this "aroma". Moreover, it is not necessary to process all the clothes with it. It will be enough just to stretch the problem areas.
- To do this, we take a foul-smelling thing, moisten the armpit areas with running water and rub them thoroughly with ordinary laundry soap. The soap should form a thick layer on the fabric, which will draw out the odor from the fibers that does not suit us.
- After that, we leave the clothes for about 10 minutes and wait.
- Then we rinse the treated area with water, rinsing well the soap from its surface. Rinse off until it is completely removed.
Now all that remains is to dry the wetted area and iron it. Everything, the clothes are ready for further use.
Special means
Only fresh urine stains can be removed with handy tools. But only special preparations can decompose crystals of urea, uric acid. Professional chemical solutions are capable of completely neutralizing odors and disinfecting upholstered furniture.
Urine off
The preparation contains bioferments for the decomposition of cat urine. The problem should be eliminated by applying the product to the stain. Fresh liquid will come off quickly, you just need to carefully collect it with a rag and dry the sofa. For old puddles, leave the solution on the upholstery overnight. It is advisable to cover the top with plastic wrap. It is necessary to spray the solution not only on the stain itself, but also on the adjacent areas of the sofa.
Natures miracle
The product effectively removes stains and odors from animals. It is applied for 5 minutes, then wiped off with a sponge or soft cloth. If the stain remains, repeat the procedure several times.
"DezoSan"
The drug is capable of killing odors and pathogens in the air and on fabrics. Use a spray on fresh urine stains from cats.
"Zoosan"
The drug is simple and easy to use. It is diluted in water. After blotting the puddles on the sofa, the fabrics are treated with a solution of the product. For best results, repeat the cleansing 2-3 more times.
Bio-G
Use a cat litter remover. It is safe for humans and animals. It is sprayed on areas that are soiled by a pet. The drug neutralizes the stench and has aseptic properties.
"Zovorsin"
The product was specially developed for cleaning upholstered furniture from pet odors. Spray the substance onto the area of the sofa where the puddle is found. It is necessary to process after most of the liquid has been blotted with napkins. If the smell does not disappear immediately, it is worth reapplying the solution.
Iodine
In a liter of water, 20 drops of tincture are diluted. Wipe only dark furniture upholstery: stains may remain on light-colored fabrics. Cats will be scared away by the smell of iodine. After several hours of exposure to the tincture, the smell will disappear.
Vinegar
Acetic acid is often used to kill, destroy the odors of cat litter on upholstered furniture and floors. A fresh spot is washed with an acid solution prepared in a 1: 3 ratio. You can spray the upholstery of the sofa with a spray bottle, and then wipe it thoroughly with a soft cloth.
Soda
Soda gruel is smeared on a wet place on the couch. Then, after drying, the powder is cleaned off. Together with soda, hydrogen peroxide, ammonia or citric acid are used, pouring them on top of the substance. It takes several hours to keep soda on the damaged area.
Alcohol
You can easily wipe the sofa with alcohol or vodka. It will be possible to completely remove the stain only after washing the area with soapy water and clean water. After drying, you can wipe it again with a cotton swab dipped in vodka. The cat will no longer stick to this place, it will be scared off by the smell of alcohol.
Dry cleaning
When all the means have been tried, the only thing left is to clean the sofa by professionals. Do not try to remove old urine marks on your own. This is unlikely to succeed. But the fabric on the sofa will look ugly, so the furniture can only be tidied up by dry cleaning.
Removing fish odor
For all the health benefits of fish, it has a huge drawback: a characteristic smell. If the clothes smell like fish, then they are often considered spoiled and written off for scrap. But it's better to know how to get the smell of fish out of your clothes.
If the contamination is not very strong, then you can simply try to wash your clothes in the washing machine with ordinary powder. Alternatively, you can add citric acid to the water: it effectively neutralizes the fishy odor.
To make sure to remove odors, you can soak your clothes in a solution of laundry soap before washing. For this purpose, dark is best suited, as it has a high alkali content. You can quickly dilute the soap solution: grate the soap, mix the water well. The solution should be as thick as possible. In order for the effect of washing to be greater, clothes can be boiled in soapy water.
Instead of soap, you can soak clothes in vinegar for 30-40 minutes. A basin of water will need 2 tbsp. l. vinegar.
Some housewives note that detergents cope well with the smell of fish. Lemon-scented detergents are best suited for this purpose.
Paper absorbs odors well, so by the time of washing, most of the aroma will be absorbed, and it will be easier to deal with it. As an additional measure, you can add a little vinegar to the water while rinsing, as it can neutralize odors.
After washing, it is better to hang things out in the fresh air and leave to ventilate for at least a day. If all these measures did not help to cope with the smell of fish, then the only way remains is dry cleaning.
