Herbs, essential oils

Fragrant herbs and essential oils can help get rid of mustiness in high humidity indoors.

It is worth pre-ventilating the room, treating the carpet with a washing solution with the addition of rosemary extract, lavender oil. Dry thoroughly, re-conduct through ventilation. There will be no trace of mustiness.

Hydrogen peroxide and soda

One of the purification options is soda and hydrogen peroxide. They give a qualitative effect:

1. Baking soda is used to clean up spilled drinks and food residues. Prepare the mixture by mixing water and baking soda until smooth. Apply the solution to the stain, wait until dry, and vacuum.
2. Hydrogen peroxide can be used to clean natural carpets. Synthetic carpet can shed, you need to test on the wrong side. The stain is filled with peroxide, the area around is covered with paper napkins. Wipe with a brush, vacuum.

Other means

Remove old stains of unwanted odor using a chemical reaction of vinegar and baking soda.

A solution of potassium permanganate copes with traces of food (milk, raw meat, beer, fish), which can become a source of bad aroma after drying. Causes of bad smells

Thick pile inhibits moisture evaporation, so cleaning the product is much more difficult. The dirt penetrates deep into the soft surface. An unpleasant odor occurs if any liquid has been spilled, and a fungus forms on stains that do not completely dry out. A washing vacuum cleaner will help to clean the dirty places, but the problem of bad smell will remain. The situation is aggravated by irregular airing of the room.Factors causing unpleasant odors:

If there is no desire or opportunity to use purchased products, the palace can be sprinkled with a small layer of ordinary dry soda. In a couple of hours, it will absorb an unpleasant odor, after which the soda must be gently swept away or collected with a vacuum cleaner.

Eliminate the musty smell of mold with vinegar and baking soda

First of all, the carpet must be dried. This should be done either outdoors or using forced air injection (fan, air conditioner, strong draft). The only thing that is not recommended for drying is heating devices. Heat can damage the fibers.

To get rid of the mold smell, you need to remove the mold itself. This can be done not only with specialized means, but also with an ordinary solution of vinegar or soda.

3. Add 5 tablespoons of vinegar solution (9%) or baking soda;

Given the persistence of the tobacco stench, it is permissible to use strong agents such as hydrogen peroxide. It should be used carefully, as peroxide has a whitening effect.

Of course, all this makes sense only if there will be no more smoking in this room.

Pets

If your pet has spoiled the fluffy product a little, there are different ways to remove the smell from the carpet. Due to the complex chemical composition of animal waste products, specialized cleaning remains the best option. However, it is expensive.

Cheaper, but almost as effective, ammonia odor can be removed with stain removers and other household cleaning products. To reliably get rid of the smell, you must strictly follow the instructions for use of the product.

If you notice a smell coming from new products, get rid of it as soon as possible. Otherwise it will be absorbed by the surrounding things. One good way to do this is by using peppermint essential oil. Add a few drops to water, wipe the product. Dry it.

Another option suitable for cleaning toys and other items without glued parts. Pour dried mint and lemon balm with warm water, add a few drops of any essential oil. Place the items required for cleaning into the infusion, leave overnight. Wipe and dry in the morning.

Potassium permanganate, peroxide

5. The floor and all surfaces in the room should also be treated, as well as the brushes and rags used.
6. The carpet product, after the time period specified in the instructions for the product, is thoroughly washed on both sides and dried, making sure that no fungus stains remain.
7. After processing, the room should be ventilated for another 3-4 days.

Dampness

When storing things in rooms with high humidity, they begin to mold, exuding an unpleasant odor. You can get rid of the source of the problem as follows:

• guess a sunny, warm day and hang the carpet out on the street;
• we leave it in the fresh air for 24 hours, after which the damp odor disappears.

After dry cleaning

First, remove the main dirt from the carpet. Then soak the scent stain with the product. Let it sit for a few hours. Rinse and dry.

A vinegar solution also helps to remove such a smell. Dilute the vinegar with two parts water. Soak a sponge in the solution and wipe the stain. The main thing here is to process the entire soiled area. Let the vinegar soak into the fibers of the material for two hours. Then rinse and remove any excess moisture. Dry the carpet.
