Peculiarities
One of the manufacturers of perforators on the market is the Zubr company. This is a domestic brand that is not inferior to foreign manufacturers in terms of its line of instruments and assortment. The brand was founded not so long ago - in 2005. Its target audience is aimed at domestic consumers, as well as those who do not professionally work with tools - the models are intended for home use.
With the successful popularization and active demand of the product, the company expanded its horizons, and now in stores you can find a tool for every taste and budget. For example, in the Zubr perforator line there are available models that are much cheaper than the same models, but from a Japanese or American brand. It is also worth noting that the warranty period, which is declared by the manufacturer, is 5 years for any model.
The most popular rock drills, like all tools, have their pros and cons. Each model has its own special characteristics.
Models
A number of popular models are provided below.
"Zubr P-26-800"
This tool perfectly copes with chiseling and drilling concrete, with opening holes in different breeds of metal. If you buy a special attachment, the perforator will be "retrained" into a mixer and can easily mix paint or mix concrete. The new model on the market is presented to customers in the period 2014-2015. She quickly gained popularity for her characteristics:
- ease of use;
- the presence of a power regulator, that is, the tool is ideal for heavy and prolonged work;
- high-quality study of the design, which, first of all, meets the new safety standards: the presence of a handle with a depth stop;
- when blocking the drill, a safety clutch is used;
- the drilling speed has been increased, and the speed control has been improved (from the lowest to the highest) - it has become smooth;
- the cable, which reaches a length of four meters, is rubberized with special insulation, which allows you to work outdoors or at negative temperatures.
"Zubr ZP-26-750 EK"
The most popular model of vertical rock drill, the leader among medium power tools. The model is ideal for homework due to its low weight. This tool is used to work with stretch ceilings in order to make the necessary holes in the concrete surface.
Advantages:
- due to the long cord, it can be used both in large rooms and in small ones;
- it is possible to work in a shockless mode, and the tool also has a drilling function in a hammer mode;
- it is possible to convert the tool into a drill;
- perfect for knocking down plaster;
- will drill the required hole on any surface and in any material;
- the tool does not slip out of your hands thanks to the rubberized grip.
There were some drawbacks: according to user reviews, we can assume that the big drawback of this model is the lack of reverse (the ability to change the direction of movement back and forth). Due to the incorrect characteristic, which indicates the possibility of adjusting the speed, many mistakenly choose this model, but in fact, the hammer drill does not have such a function.
"Zubr P-22-650"
This equipment is designed for quick and easy chiseling of concrete walls, drilling holes in metal and wood surfaces. It has a large inherent functionality, well-established mechanisms for productive work.
Positive points when using this model:
- suitable for both home and professional work;
- due to the power of the rock drill, the work on drilling or chiselling moves twice as fast;
- according to its characteristics, the model is ranked among a number of percussion instruments, but there is also a shockless mode, which increases the functionality;
- there is a reverse function;
- high strength of parts and good wear resistance.
According to the reviews of buyers who work with hammer drills and various materials every day, you can see that when working (daily or frequently) with an iron surface or metal structures, there is a strong wear of the gears. Although the warranty period is quite long, it should be borne in mind that it will take quite a long time to replace parts.
"Zubr ZP-18-470"
The model is presented on the market relatively recently, but it already has its fans. Differs in a relatively low vibration level. Due to its low weight (only 2.4 kg), it is possible to take the tool with you to the country. The hammer drill is suitable for work in the house and apartment. A cord length of 3 m is optimal for work.
Positive aspects of using the tool:
- a small amount of time is spent to create a hole - only 25-35 seconds;
- improved impact mechanism, which increases the level of productivity;
- there are no restrictions on materials that can be drilled;
- there is a limiter for the drilling depth;
- the presence of a reverse;
- the complete set of the model has been updated - there is an additional handle and grease for the drill;
- the power button is now responsible for blocking.
DIY repair
Due to the fact that the Zubr company provides a warranty period for 5 years, there is no particular need to repair a broken hammer drill with your own hands. It will be quite difficult to cope with a broken tool on your own, even if you need to replace the components.
The most common cause of tool breakage is a break in the power cord. A serviceable cord should never be hot, it should not have cracks or kinks. If there are such problems, then it must be replaced with a new one.

How to choose?
Consumers think that if a drill has an impact mechanism, then it can work just like a hammer drill. But this is not the case. The impact force of these two devices is completely different, and the mechanism of operation is very different. The drill works on the principle of a punch, and the hammer drill is designed specifically for drilling holes in different surfaces. Most of its force is transferred to the drill tip, thus giving a stronger recoil.
If a hammer drill cannot be replaced with a drill, then a drill with a hammer drill is easy. The drill is much weaker in its power. The hammer drill has many operating modes: drilling, screwing in (unscrewing) screws, chiselling.
After it was decided to purchase a hammer drill, you need to select the required model of the tool and the manufacturer's company.
