All about electric woodcutters

Repair of an electric hacker

How difficult it will be to repair an electric wood hanger depends on the characteristics of the breakdown. If the reciprocating saw stops while cutting the tree due to a protection actuation, this may indicate a blunt blade teeth or a strong feed pressure.

It turns out a beveled cut - the prism of the guide holder is dirty, the blade is dull or it is incorrectly selected.

The reason for not turning on the electric hacker may be damage to the cord, discharge of the batteries (in the case of battery power), or overload, as a result of which the protection is triggered.

In case of incorrect or weak fastening of the blade, it is necessary to check whether the clamping screw is worn out. Maybe a blade with an unsuitable shank for an electric hawk was selected.

If you need to disassemble the saw, you need to unscrew the screws on the handle and pry one of the plastic parts with something sharp. Sometimes the screws are hidden by the casing, in this case you must first remove it by removing the attachments from the hacksaw. Replacing gears, bushings, bearings is not always possible on your own, if only because you need to find the right parts. In this case, the tool is simply sent to a service center for repair.

Types of hacksaws by purpose

Electric hacksaws come in three classes:

  • household;
  • professional;
  • industrial.

Which electric hack is better depends on how often you plan to use the tool. Household models are cheaper, but have the same functionality as equipment designed for industrial use. Therefore, if you are not going to work with a hacksaw for more than 25 hours a month, a household-grade tool will be enough for you.

The differences between professional models are:

  • in a high power level;
  • in the possibility of continuous operation for ten hours;
  • in larger sizes;
  • heavyweight;
  • at a high price.

The choice of any tool, including electric hacks, does not tolerate fuss and rush. The process of acquiring it should be approached with all responsibility. This will help you not to be disappointed afterwards. Enjoy the shopping!

Alteration of the jigsaw and grinder

If you wish, you can convert the jigsaw into an electric saw for gardening and carpentry work. To do this, you need to fix the saw blade on a piece of metal tube about 15 cm long. A plate is screwed on the back of the tube, which will be attached to the jigsaw. To guide the movement of the saw, a special auxiliary structure is made of wood. You can prepare its drawings in advance so as not to be mistaken with the dimensions.

> This homemade reciprocating saw, made from an old jigsaw, works just as well as the original one.

An electric hawk is also made from a grinder. In general, a grinder is such a tool that, with the help of attachments, can perform a very wide range of operations.

In order for it to saw like an electric hawk, a frame is made with a pendulum hinge and a device for attaching the grinder itself. All this is installed and fixed on a table made of wood or metal. In fact, you get a cutting machine.

How to work with an electric saw

Quite often, even after purchasing a chain saw, after a while, people refuse to use it, citing the fact that the work of a chain saw is very hard. In fact, this is a delusion. The point is that you need to master the technique of working with a chain saw, then the work will be done quickly and effortlessly. How to saw with a chain saw?

The whole secret of the ease of working with a chain saw lies in the presence of a stop, good sharpening and correct chain tension.

Fig. 8. A chain saw with a metal stop on the saw body in the form of teeth is the best option.

The correct technique for working with a chain saw is as follows. The chain saw is applied with a stop to the tree trunk (the chain at this moment should not come into contact with the log), the saw is started and the pendulum motion (lifting the handle up and lowering the tire down) begins to saw the trunk, leaning on the stop. As soon as it becomes inconvenient to saw, the saw is lowered lower and this movement is repeated.

The second part of easy chain sawing is sharpening and tensioning the chain. The fact that it is easier to saw with a sharp chain is clear to everyone, but many forget about the chain tension. The chain must be correctly tensioned, see the illustration below. If the chain is overtightened, then it gets very hot and will soon fail. If the chain is loose, then it does not cut well and can fly off the tire, which is fraught with injury.

We have covered all the features of chainsaws. Of course, in the conditions of a summer residence and domestic use, a chain saw is rarely used. However, having such a tool, many works are greatly simplified and facilitated.

It is important to make the right choice of a saw based on your needs and purchase a reliable and easy-to-use tool that will last for many years.

Popular models

A number of companies are leading in the market of construction and repair equipment, which have in their assortment saber plates for metal products.

The firm offering the most budgetary products is Elitech. A significant plus will be the low price of consumables for the tool. Saw weight does not exceed 2 kg

However, when working with metal products, you need to proceed with caution, since such devices have mostly low power.
Among the heavy-duty reciprocating saws are Makita tools. They are often equipped with a vibration-reducing system

Perfect for metal products, creating a cut with a depth of 13 cm. The device switch has four positions and is very convenient to adjust. The high price of the products is justified by the available advantages.
