How to grow arugula

When there are two true leaves on the plants, they are dived into peat or disposable cups. The grown seedlings are transferred to the beds or to the greenhouse; arugula should be transplanted together with an earthen lump. The distance between the bushes should be at least 15-20 cm.
  4. Another way to get delicious greens is to grow arugula on a windowsill or balcony. This plant is very unpretentious, eruka does not need special conditions and complex care.   2. The optimal temperature for growing arugula is considered to be a range of 14-18 degrees. Based on this, and you need to choose the method of planting greens and the place of its cultivation.
  3. Some varieties of arugula seedlings can withstand temperatures as low as -7 degrees. However, the delicate greens will not endure prolonged frosts. If there is a risk of frost, it is better to cover the eruka with foil or agrofibre (at least overnight).
  4. You need to water the beds often, almost every day. The soil near the arugula should always be slightly damp. If this rule is not followed, the greens become bitter and turn into color.
  5. The looseness of the soil is also important. After each watering, the beds must be puffed with a hoe, so the roots of the eruka will receive the necessary amount of air and oxygen.
  6. You need to fertilize the bushes once or twice during the entire growing season. Considering that arugula fully ripens in three to four weeks, it cannot be fertilized with mineral and organic preparations. Toxins will accumulate in the leaves, which will not have time to decompose in such a short period. Growing

In the process of searching through trial and error for the optimal method of agricultural technology, I achieved that my own-grown arugula surpassed the store-bought arugula. I can immediately reassure you - the plant is not capricious, you just need to remember about a couple of moments, and success is guaranteed!

Sowing. To get greens as soon as possible, you can sow them in greenhouses at a very early date, or even sow them simply in pots on the windowsill.

It is sown in open ground when the soil warms up to 10 ° C, starting in mid-April. And then you can sow constantly, at intervals of 2-4 weeks, so that there are no interruptions in the receipt of greens.

Seeds are sown in grooves to a depth of 1.5 cm, leaving a row spacing of 40 cm.When the first true leaves appear at the seedlings, it is worth thinning out the plants and leaving a distance of about 5 cm between them.

Place and soil. Arugula feels better under the auspices of an openwork shade, or at least in shade from the midday scorching rays.

But at the same time, in shady areas, it grows stunted and almost does not develop, but in the sun it feels good.

It takes root on any garden soils, but especially readily develops on slightly acidic or calcified soils with a high calcium content.
