Varieties of devices for peeling cones and peeling pine nuts

How to make a pine nut mill with your own hands

Pine nuts are very popular among lovers of this healing product. Cones with kernels can be collected in the forests of Siberia, but further processing of nuts is quite complicated. Previously, the kernels were manually separated from the cone, but this process is very laborious and, moreover, takes a long time. Now, with the advent of new technologies, special cars appeared, whose activities are aimed at shelling and processing of nuts. Today, such mills can be made with your own hands, which we will talk about in this article.

Varieties of devices for peeling cones and peeling pine nuts

The modern market offers a huge selection of various equipment, thanks to which the cleaning and preparation of pine nuts for consumption becomes much easier.

Large enterprises usually use a whole tape of machines, thanks to which the source material is completely prepared for sale with little or no human assistance. Usually, such tapes consist of a special technique, alternately performing the following functions:

  • so that the process starts correctly, the pine cones are dried first;
  • then the kernels are separated from the bumps using pine cone crushers and winnowing machines;
  • husk nuts;
  • peel edible kernels from various impurities and cone residues;
  • then with a pine nut remove the film;
  • again wash, dry and packaged for further sale.

At the enterprises you can find the following devices:

  1. Machines that deal with calibration of already peeled walnuts into fractions to size. Such machines process on average 160 kilograms of nuts per hour, and their cost starts from 85 thousand rubles;
  2. A machine whose work is aimed at crushing pine cones (peeling). Some samples dump everything processed "in a heap" and a person has to manually sort through the kernels and debris, while other machines are equipped with a blowing system that separates the nuts from the pieces of the cone and distributes them into different compartments. The cost of the combined machine is on average 120 thousand rubles, while it can handle up to 200 kilograms of product per hour;
  3. The next step will be removing the shellFor this purpose, special installations have been created, which, using various mechanisms, exfoliate the shell from the nuts. Average performance equals 70 kilograms per hour, and the price 100 thousand rubles;
  4. Also very useful will be a machine that separates the film from the nut, while practically not injuring the finished product. This device is capable of passing through itself up to 500 grams of nuclei per hour, but also its price will also be quite high, no less 150 thousand rubles;
  5. Another a brazier is a useful appliance, which in 30 minutes is able to prepare up to 40 kilograms of nuts for consumption, while there are specimens that additionally perform preliminary washing of the product. The price of such a device starts from 130 thousand rubles.
Many manufacturers sell both individual machines and a whole range of devices that allow you to continuously process pine nuts. Moreover, the so-called conveyor or belt is much more convenient, because the manufacturer comes up with and compares all stages of the process in advance.

Is it possible to make a DIY pine nut crusher?

Of course, the purchase of special machines is a good thing, but even they have several drawbacks.:

  • Such machines very expensive and it is for this reason that they are not available to small entrepreneurs and just ordinary residents who collect nuts for their own needs.
  • In addition to the price, a special installation takes up a lot of space, and its use will be inconvenient in the presence of a small warehouse.
  • Also, many people who collect and harvest nuts note that it would be very convenient to first separate the kernels from the cone, and only then transport practically clean nuts... This is due to the fact that nuts take up less space in the pine cone than inedible elements. Special equipment runs on electricity and it is impossible or simply inconvenient to transport it to collection sites, so making more compact means for crushing pine nuts could be an excellent solution.

All the disadvantages of special equipment perfectly emphasize the advantages of a home-made apparatus:

  • Low cost price;
  • The ability to use as for small businesses and for personal purposes;
  • Such crushers take up less space and they can be transferred to the place of collection and, accordingly, do not bring unnecessary parts of the cedar cone from the forest.

Having considered all the advantages and disadvantages, many will say that special equipment is more reliable and in this they will be right. But why do we need a device that costs more than 100 thousand rubles to an ordinary resident who harvests several kilograms of nuts for his family? In this case homemade crushers are the best fit, which is easy enough to make with tools, material and some skills... In principle, everyone can build such a structure, the main thing is to make a little effort. Moreover, the manufacture of such a crusher will require a minimum of financial investments.

Self-production of a machine for processing pine nuts is not such a difficult job as it might seem at first glance. One has only to start and the work will go by itself, but how much benefit such a device will bring later.

Homemade pine nut grinder

The produced peeling machine consists of a hopper and a drum rotating in it with 54 peeling pins. Wherein in this design, you can adjust the crushing of small and large nuts, which helps to improve the quality of processing. This crusher is driven by a manual rotating mechanism, the principle of operation is similar to that of a meat grinder.

The main features of this design include the ability to attach it to a tree using the holes in the back wall. And the main advantage is the low cost of the required parts.

Algorithm of actions

To make a cedar nut crusher yourself, you need to adhere to the following algorithm:

  1. First, from a piece of pipe 25 centimeters long make a drumby screwing to it staggered peeling pins cut from a steel rod with a diameter of 6 millimeters;
  2. Disc-shaped sides are welded to the drum and make a hole exactly in the middle;
  3. Manufacturing of bearing assemblies it is best to entrust it to professionals, because ideally they should look like solid parts of a complex shape;
  4. But also bearing units can be made by yourself, only in this case it is better to weld individual parts (from a 5 mm steel plate with the required number of holes, 2 centimeters cutting a 60x4 steel pipe without a seam and a 3 mm thick washer, with an inner diameter of 2.7 centimeters and an outer diameter of 5.4 centimeters;
  5. A handle is placed on the right half of the axis, which will subsequently activate the mechanism;
  6. Bushing, handle arm and grooved handle made from pipe scraps of the required size, and the axis from steel sheet number 5;
  7. Then lower end 30 centimeter shoulder tube flatten and sawed off, then a hole with a diameter of 1.8 centimeters is made in the resulting wall for the passage and subsequent fixing of the axis of the handle;
  8. Bushing, stick arm and axle connected by welding;
  9. As soon as the drum is ready it framed with 4 mm steel walls, which will be assembled into a single structure using 2.5x2.5 cm corners and M6 countersunk head screws;
  10. In order for the drum to fit correctly inside the structure, grooves are made in the side walls radius of 2.5 centimeters;
  11. Then you need install ball bearings (in accordance with the drawing);
  12. Near the grooves bolts are welded in the side walls M10, put the bearing unit housings on them and fix them with nuts.

The most complete understanding of the algorithm of actions is possible only after the drawing has been fully studied.

To lighten the weight of the structure, it is allowed to replace steel with aluminum alloys.

Making a cedar nut crusher with your own hands is not so difficult, the main thing is to clearly follow the drawing and a certain algorithm of actions... With a minimum amount of financial investment, you can get a structure that greatly facilitates the process of processing pine nuts.
