Composition and medicinal properties of honey beeswax

The use of beeswax in cosmetology and folk medicine

Our understanding of beeswax is superficial and is limited, perhaps, to information that it is beneficial to health. But did you know that it has been stored for tens and hundreds of years? At the same time, although the beneficial properties are partially lost, the product as a whole remains useful. It was found in the ancient Egyptian pyramids during excavations.

And modern scientists with all their scientific and technical base have not yet learned how to recreate it in an artificial environment.

In this article, we will look at what a beeswax is, talk about the use of beeswax in cosmetology and traditional medicine, and also learn how to heat beeswax.

Composition and medicinal properties of honey beeswax

The wax is secreted by the glands of bees, which is used by them to build combs and seal honey cells... It contains about three hundred compounds, of which more than two thirds are ethers.

In addition, there are alcohols and acids, and other compounds. The composition directly depends on the nutrition of the bees. It is insoluble in water, and even acid does not take it. However, fat can dissolve it. The color also depends on what kind of pollen was used to make the honey. Wax is a solid substance with a granular structure. Like any other waste product of bees, it is very useful. It is used in medicine, cosmetology.

How to be treated with natural wax in traditional medicine

It has been used in folk medicine since ancient times. Even the world famous Persian scientist and physician Avicenna prescribed it to men, women and children of different ages with certain diseases, to increase immunity.

Due to its chemical composition, as well as physical properties (elasticity, elasticity, softness), it has found its application.

In addition to relieving inflammation in the oral cavity, additional gastric juice is produced, which contributes to the rapid digestion of dinner, especially if it is plentiful. The beekeeping product is also used for weight loss in folk magic rituals due to its physical properties.

For the intestines

Its use has a beneficial effect on the intestinal microflora, which helps to protect yourself from stomach diseases. Thanks to its unique composition, it has antibacterial properties.

Benefit and harm

A lot has been said about the benefits above. It can be added that it also contains useful minerals and vitamins, hydrocarbons. Its composition is not constant. It depends on the honey plants from which the bees take pollen. It softens the skin, relieves pain and heals wounds.

There are practically no contraindications, with the exception of rare cases of allergies.... This is due to the presence of honey in its composition. Before applying a mask or cream to the skin, you can make sure that the body tolerates the product normally. To do this, wax melted in a water bath is applied to the back of the hand.

In fact, only the ingestion of wax in large quantities and a fake product can bring harm.

Beeswax selection and quality determination

It is always better to use fresh wax. When choosing, we recommend that the buyer pay attention to the smell. Natural wax tastes and smells like honey.

Fresh is pink or white. If it is brown, then most likely this wax is several years old. If the wax cut has a glossy rather than matte surface, then paraffin was mixed into its composition.

How to melt at home

To use the wax for its intended purpose, it is cleaned of coarse impurities, and in necessary cases (if it is used for chewing or ingestion) it is cleaned two or three times. There are wax melters specially made in the factory.

But they are not always available for sale. Yes, and wax melters are not cheap, since either aluminum or stainless steel is used in their manufacture.

Heat in a water bath

Our ancestors had never heard of specially manufactured wax furnace devices. They successfully used the water bath method. It is not difficult to melt wax on it. By the way, it is still very popular due to its availability and low cost. To do this, take two containers of the same volume for 20-30 liters... It can be enameled or aluminum pots, basins, troughs.

We collect the crushed wax in one container, after washing it and cleaning it from the coarse fraction of debris. Then we tie the container on top with gauze. Fill another container with water by 40% with water and put it on fire. After the water has boiled, turn the container with wax into a boiling pot (tank) with water.

We tie the handles of two containers to each other, the water continues to boil over low heat for two to three hours... The upper container can be insulated with something. We leave the wax in this state until the next day. After all the contents have cooled, we take out a yellow piece of wax from the container. It takes the form of the container in which it was.

Melted in solar wax pots

Do-it-yourself solar unit. It is installed in an apiary or at home. Such wax is valued higher because it is exposed to direct sunlight in the process.

It is advisable to reheat light raw materials in them. WITHThe solar wax melter is a box (wooden or steel) covered with a double-glazed frame. Inside such a structure, a stainless steel baking sheet is installed at an angle of 40 degrees and a tin trough.

A little water is poured into this trough so that later it is easy to remove from the container. The finely chopped product is pre-cleaned. Then placed on a baking sheet under the glass. The sun heats up the glass, the space inside the structure; under the influence of the rays, the wax begins to melt. For this, 70 degrees is enough for him. It flows through the grate on the baking sheet into the trough. As you can see, it is not difficult to melt wax using this method.

Useful properties and application of the beekeeping product - backing

Now we will consider what a beekeeping technique is, how it is useful and how it can be treated. Zabrus is another useful and no less unique beekeeping product in its composition.... It is a mixture of wax, salivary glands of bees, pollen, propolis. The bees seal filled honeycombs with this substance.

In its composition, it differs from wax, since there are more components in its composition.... In this sense, he is richer. Thus, the effect of its application is higher. But if you use wax and beading in the mixture, the healing effect will be even stronger. It is also very effective for bacterial and viral diseases. This substance can be simply chewed.

As a result, intense salivation occurs, and the secretory function of the stomach increases. At the same time, food is digested faster. Alternative and traditional medicine recommends chewing it 3-4 times a day for 10 minutes. And with a severe cold or sinusitis, they chew it even more often.

In addition, sabrus is not thrown away after this procedure... Small pieces are swallowed. Nothing wrong with that. On the contrary, inside the stomach, it stimulates its work.

Zabrus also works well against tonsillitis, periodontal disease, stomatitis.

There are no contraindications to its use. Naturally, you need to use it within reasonable limits, especially for people suffering from diabetes. When applying masks or cream to the face and other parts of the body, the beading, together with other components, nourishes the skin composition and has a beneficial effect on the body. External application of it will not bring harm.

Neither traditional medicine nor the official one has any doubts about the beneficial effect of wax. By the way, the latter did not deny this fact. The dynamics of the development of the cosmetic industry shows that the use of the product as a component of cream, mask and other products is only increasing.

The fact that even today it is not possible to reproduce it in research institutes using modern technology suggests that natural sources of longevity are superior to advanced technologies. They only need to be protected and used rationally.
