Which greenhouse is suitable for growing mushrooms

For each mushroom variety, it is necessary to choose the right greenhouse. Oyster mushrooms can be grown in a cellar or basement, but mushrooms should be equipped with a film shelter.

The greenhouse can be made of polycarbonate material, plastic film, glass. An excellent solution is the use of greenhouses in which the seedlings were grown. As a frame base, you can use steel or aluminum billets, wood or plastic material. When deciding what specific material will be used, it is necessary to give preference to quality, durability, level of thermal conductivity and cost. The main condition is not the type of construction, but the observance of the necessary requirements:

• the correct use of fertilizers;

It is best to use fluorescent lamps, which should work at least twelve hours a day. You will need thermometers to control the temperature.

Heating system

The simplest option is to connect the greenhouse building to the ordinary water heating of your home using a balancing valve. This will make it possible to control the temperature in the required parameters. But such a possibility does not always exist, so you have to install a heating device.

If the greenhouse is not too large, then it is recommended to install a not too powerful electric boiler, which has certain advantages:

• maintaining the target temperature in automatic mode;
• ease heating control taking into account the growth phase of mushrooms;
• compactness;
• no need for a device chimney;
• not too high cost.

Modern boilers have built-in expansion tanks and circulation pumps, which ensure safe operation and uniform heating of the entire area.

There is also one, but a very significant drawback - electrical energy is quite expensive. It is possible to reduce heating costs with the help of high-quality insulation and sealing of the building., sealing cracks and gap areas. It should be noted that mushrooms are not too demanding on the temperature regime, so the electricity costs will be quite acceptable.

Heating radiators or registers made of pipes of large diameters can be placed around the perimeter of the greenhouse.

Water supply

Watering the substrate composition in which the mushrooms are grown and maintaining the required humidity can be done using finely dispersed spraying of water. In small greenhouses, it is convenient to use hand-type sprayers, and more spacious greenhouses are recommended to be equipped with full-fledged humidification systems.

The water must first be defended, giving it softness. Installation of water tanks under greenhouse racks is allowed. Thus, the humidity level will be maintained and the water will acquire the required temperature.

Curtain system

Mushrooms need dim light. Under the hot sun, they will dry out and die. To protect mycelium from "extinction", it is necessary to think over a curtain system.

If you used a double layer of agrofibre or colored polycarbonate in the greenhouse device, then you will not need a curtain. Such materials will perfectly diffuse sunlight and reduce the level of illumination. In all other cases, curtains made of thick fabric should be mounted under the roof of the building, or the greenhouse should be whitewashed with lime.

Humidity

Her level must be high and stay within ninety percent. For control, it is recommended to install a special device in the greenhouse.

Mushrooms for greenhouse cultivation

Experienced gardeners assure that not all mushrooms are suitable for growing in greenhouse conditions. Recommended breeding:

• oyster mushroom;
• winter mushroom;
• champignons;
• porcini mushrooms;
• chanterelles.
