How to grow a healer beetle at home?

Treatment is always prescribed in courses. Only in this way, it is able to give the desired result. Therefore, the drug, in this case, a live tablet of a healer beetle, should be in sufficient quantity. This means that we will have to breed it ourselves. How can this be done correctly?

Breeding beetles healers

There is nothing complicated in this process, but you need to follow some simple rules and conditions of detention. Actually, breeding a healer beetle and caring for it is a couple of minutes a day to control the condition, and feeding it once every few days.

So, you brought small bugs into the house. For example, you have 100 of them. Place them in a 0.5 L jar and find a suitable place for them in the house:

• dark, or just in the shade, so that direct sunlight does not disturb insects;
• temperature from 20 to 27 degrees;
• humidity - 70%;
• lack of drafts.

How quickly bugs multiply

It should be borne in mind that the reproduction of this insect occurs in a full cycle: from egg to larva (photo 1.), pupa and, finally, the appearance of an adult beetle. Only adults are used for treatment, so you have to wait 5-6 weeks. With proper care, by this time the number of beetles increases by 2 or even 3 times.

The minimum method of treatment according to the formula 1: 30: 1 will require about 900 pcs. therefore, you will have to initially purchase somewhere between 300 - 500 bugs. In time, such a reception of a live pill will stretch for 2 months and by the end of this line you will already have a new offspring, which will provide you with the required amount.

Caring for beetles and how to properly keep them

It must be said that the sources disagree on what is the best way to feed the healer beetle - black bread or white? Moreover, some are very categorical and argue that only brown bread should be used, while others believe that insects grow better on white. The flour product must be cut into pieces. Big or small is not that important. It's just that large ones can become stale, and then they will need to be carefully moistened with a spoon.

Feeding is simple. A small amount of wheat groats, bran, oatmeal is poured into the jar where the bugs live ... You need to pour it so that the groats cover the bugs on one side, and leave the other free. That is, we close about 60% -70% of the space, and spread the rest of the place with pieces of bread (see how they eat, photo 2.).

The insects process the feed, and we see the results of this processing at the bottom of the can, which is the signal for the next feeding. Sometimes we give water, we moisten the stale bread, otherwise the insects will have to eat their own larvae. Just drip small droplets from a pipette or syringe.

Fruit is also used for feed. It can be the peel of bananas, pears, apple pieces, see the photo. We do vitamin supplements constantly. Beetles eat the crust to the ground.Then we throw new ones.

Any low vessel made of glass or plastic is suitable for keeping the Argentine witch doctor beetle. Usually, plastic containers of completely different sizes and glass jars are used for this purpose. In such a mini-terrarium, a small darkling beetle lives and reproduces quite well.

If your task is not to contain tens of thousands of beetles, but you only need to create good living conditions for 1-2 thousand beetles, then a vessel with a volume of about 0.5 - 1 liter will be enough. To contain more bugs, the volume of the vessel must be increased. So for keeping 5,000 beetles, a vessel with a volume of 1.5 - 2 liters will be enough.

To maintain optimal humidity, the terrarium needs to be closed with a lid that has holes for ventilation and oxygen supply. Do not close the covers tightly if they have no holes. Leave the cracks. There were cases when all the beetles died, since they did not have access to oxygen and they could not breathe.

If the vessel is high enough and has a narrow neck, for example a 2-3 liter jar, then in this case the lid may not be closed at all, since it will be more difficult for fresh air to sink to the bottom of the jar due to the height of the vessel and the small air movement in the jar. ... When breathing, beetles, like all living organisms, emit carbon dioxide. And it is heavier than air. So if you have a tall container, make sure that fresh air reaches the bottom of your container. It is easier to achieve this when there are several centimeters from the surface of the substrate in which the bugs live to the edge of the terrarium. Then oxygen freely reaches the bottom of the vessel and the bugs will feel good.

Substrate for keeping beetles

At the bottom of your cage, you need to sprinkle wheat bran in a layer of about 2 cm. Some articles mention the use of rye and oat bran. Better to find proven wheat bran. Bugs live in them, burrow, eat and multiply wonderfully in this substrate.
Bran also helps to create a microclimate in such a terrarium. The bran layer has a higher moisture content than the surface and they can also adsorb excess moisture. This is favorable for breeding medicine beetles.

Over time, with this layer of bran, the waste products of bugs accumulate, the bran darkens and can even turn black in especially advanced cases. At the same time, the bugs creep out to the surface. After them, the larvae crawl out, which are usually in the bran layer and crawl out only for the tasty smell of food. In this case, it is necessary to fill up or completely change the substrate.

Temperature and humidity

To keep the healer beetle, it is necessary to maintain room temperature. These bugs are unpretentious and can live well in temperatures ranging from 18 to 27 degrees. The optimum temperature of the content is 21-24 degrees Celsius. At low temperatures, the metabolism slows down and the beetles eat and reproduce poorly.

The optimum humidity for keeping beetles is 65-70%. Keep in mind that the pieces of fruit and vegetables you feed the bugs will add moisture to the cage. And if it is large, then mold may appear.And mold cannot be allowed in the terrarium. Because of it, the death of bugs begins.

Feeding the healer beetles

Since all beetles of the darkling beetle family consume grain and cereals as their main food, our darkling beetle also prefers to eat cereals. In Western countries, this bug is often fed with peanuts and peanuts. Some even call it the "peanut beetle". But still, the basis of nutrition is cereals. In our country, it was found that the optimal food for the beetle of the doctor is black bread, and without any additives and spices. Ordinary black bread, which is sold in our stores in the form of bricks.

Feeding bugs is easy. Put small pieces of bread, 2-5 cm in size and 1-1.5 cm thick, on the surface of the substrate. And soon you will see how the bugs run as fast as they can to their food, stick around it and bury it in the bran. There, inside the substrate, humidity and temperature are more stable and this has a good effect on the reproduction of bugs.

Black bread is a staple food for medicinal beetles. But it's not enough. It is also necessary to feed the bugs with pieces of fruit and vegetables. From them, they take not only nutrients, but also much-needed water.

Since these bugs get water only from juicy fruits and vegetables, do not forget to throw them apple slices, thinly sliced ​​carrots and banana peels, which they love very much, from time to time.

Be careful! Excess fruit can lead to mold and rot! And this will have a detrimental effect on the health of your bugs. Don't throw in too much fruit. Better to give a little, see how they cope with it, and then throw more if necessary.

The amount of food that should be given to beetles depends on the number of your beetles and the temperature of the content. As a guide, try giving bread 2 times a week and 2 times a week wet food. Watch closely how they handle food. Keep mold out of the terrarium.

Caring for the beetle healer

Caring for beetles with a healer is quite simple. It is necessary to give food every two days - pieces of bread, fruits and vegetables. At the same time, inspect your farm. Is there mold? If so, immediately remove the moldy objects and ventilate the enclosure, leaving it open in a dry place.

A beetle enclosure should not be placed where exposed to direct sunlight. Bugs don't like a lot of bright light. It is best to keep them in a shaded area. This place should not be too humid. Therefore, the bathroom is not suitable for keeping bugs. Find a place somewhere in the apartment where they won't get in the way. Some people put their beetles on the windowsill. But then it is necessary to close them from the sun's rays, and the temperature on the windowsill can usually jump strongly, which does not have a good effect on the life of the bugs. Avoid placing the beetle container on vibrating surfaces such as a refrigerator, microwave oven, or washing machine. Find a place free of direct sunlight, drafts, sudden changes in temperature and vibration.

As you examine your terrarium, look for any remaining dried fruit pieces. They should be removed periodically, shaking off beetles or larvae that like to hide in the folds of dried fruit.

If you see that the substrate on which your beetles are kept has darkened a lot, and the beetles and larvae do not burrow deep, but almost all are in the upper layer, then this is a clear sign that quick intervention is required to prevent the death of your beetle colony. A blackened substrate is a sign of the accumulated waste products of beetles. Naturally, they can no longer live there.There are two ways out - either to add more bran with a layer of a couple of centimeters, or to do a general cleaning of the terrarium.

But if the condition of the substrate is already very bad and you feel a pungent smell, then you will certainly have to do a general cleaning.

spring-cleaning

It is necessary to catch all beetles and their larvae. A piece of fresh banana peel placed on the substrate can help with this, especially if you haven't fed the beetles for a couple of days before. Beetles and larvae will crawl on this peel and you will just have to take it and shake them off into some kind of bowl. This can be done several times. In this case, you will transfer the most active and viable individuals to a temporary vessel.

The remaining soil is shaken out, examined and live beetles and larvae are selected. The container or jar where you kept the beetles must be washed, wiped dry or dried. Then add a new 2cm layer of wheat bran and put the beetles back in. Everything. The spring cleaning is over, and your terrarium is back to optimal conditions for keeping healer beetles.

Even in ancient times, insects were used as a medicine against various diseases. As for the medicine beetles, they were previously raised only for reptiles, wild birds, and various animals. But over time, the fact was noticed that when eating these insects, sick (even cancer) animals and birds were cured. This pushed scientists to clinical research.

According to traditional medicine experts, healer beetles are useful because:

1. Dissolving in gastric juice, insects die and secrete biological substances that have a beneficial effect on immunity.

Treatment with a healer beetle includes three stages.

Prophylaxis

For this, insects are taken daily, increasing the number by one every day. The maximum accepted number of beetles per day depends on the external and age data of the patient.

So, if the patient is over 35 years old and at the same time weighs more than 80 kg, then he needs to reach 30 beetles a day.

At the age of up to 20 years inclusive and weighing 50 kg, the maximum peak of beetles will be limited to 20 pcs.

If your characteristics are average, then the course should consist of 25 beetles.

In all schemes, having reached the peak, further treatment is continued in the reverse order. You will need to drink one less beetle every day.

Treatment

As a rule, at this stage, patients are treated for diseases that are still in the early stages. This can be asthma, gastritis, renal, heart or pulmonary failure, hypertension, hepatitis, etc. The scheme does not differ from the previous one. But the reception should be started with a course of 40-70 bugs per day, depending on the severity of the disease. As a rule, a course of 50 is recommended. You need to drink the "medicine" in the same way, increasing and then decreasing the number of beetles by one unit.

Heavy artillery

This is how the treatment of serious diseases such as asthma, Parkinson's disease, osteoporosis, cancer, psoriasis, diabetes, dermatitis can be called. This course consists of 70 beetles at their peak.

Treatment rules

The effectiveness of treatment depends not only on the number of individuals taken. There are a number of rules to follow:

1. Reception is carried out on an empty stomach, taking 20 minutes before that 100 ml of warm water to "start" the stomach.
2. You need to drink healer beetles either completely "pure" or with kefir or yogurt. The second option is easier because the beetles freeze and are easier to swallow. They can also be rolled into a bread crumb or placed in a gelatin capsule designed for medicinal powders (it usually holds 10 individuals).

Now let's talk about what are the contraindications when using the instructions for the treatment of the healer beetle. Unfortunately, it is not possible to find out whether beetles bring harm or benefit to the human body in the treatment of various diseases. There is also no exact data on the existing contraindications. All information is based on practical factors, among which are:

1. Allergic manifestations. Reception of bugs can cause all sorts of rashes on the body, numbness of the tongue in case of biting them, itching.
2. The sensitivity of the organism itself to bugs and the ability to process them. For example, treatment may be accompanied by pain in the abdomen, head, diarrhea, and various ailments.
3. Psychological barrier. The bugs are eaten alive.Not everyone can do this without problems. As a rule, you have to cope with nausea, vomiting, subconscious violence.

A temperature above 35 C and below 18 C, according to scientific publications, is unfavorable for the development of most beetles - healers, but as the observations of people who used them for treatment and our experiments have shown, this does not particularly affect their reproduction at home.
