Growing Pentas from seeds

Pentas is a favorite plant of many, which is characterized by an unpretentious "character". For home floriculture, a dwarf hybrid, lanceolate pentas, was artificially bred. This plant blooms several times a year, but since some inflorescences have not yet faded, while others are already blooming, one gets the impression that it blooms for a whole season. There are species with pink, lilac and white flowers. It looks very nice when a couple of types of pentas grow in one pot at the same time.

Most often, the plant is propagated by cuttings in the spring, but pentas can also be obtained from seeds. I would like to note that the seeds are very small, so it is best to sow it into the ground without burying it. It is better to do this in the middle of January. The planted seeds must be covered with glass and placed in a bright place, the optimum temperature is + 20-24 degrees. If conditions are favorable, germination can be observed after 2-3 weeks.
After 6 weeks, the seedlings should be dived without growing. The pots will fit 9-11 cm in diameter.

It should be remembered that the pentas branches randomly and in order to achieve a thicker crown, it is necessary to pinch and prune the bush immediately after rooting during the growth period. A sufficient amount of light is also needed, otherwise the plant will stretch and lose its stability.
Watering should be moderate - the pentas does not die from drying out the soil, but its stems are bare, but new leaves grow to replace the fallen leaves.

And do not forget - the plant requires love and gentle care, only then will it respond with beautiful flowers!
