Fancy white cucumber

Breeders from all over the world are involved in the struggle to develop unusual varieties of vegetable and fruit crops that are familiar to us. What properties are not endowed with plants by enthusiasts!

Some vegetables and fruits familiar to us from childhood can take on completely bizarre shapes or colors.

So it happened with such a culture as cucumbers. Breeders of several countries have bred ... a white cucumber!

Why is it better, and are there any differences in care in comparison with ordinary green cucumbers?

Outwardly, a white cucumber differs from green cucumbers only in color, the surface of its skin is the same pimpled as in its green counterparts. In shape, the fruits are of its semi-root type, the average length of one fruit is from 20 to 25 cm.

All varieties of white cucumbers are of the long-leaved type, therefore it is more convenient and practical to grow them not in greenhouses, but in the open field using trellises. It is more difficult to grow cucumbers on trellises, but your efforts will not be in vain: with this method of cultivation, a white cucumber receives more light, is better ventilated, and besides, the stem of the plant remains intact during harvest.

A distinctive feature of the white cucumber bushes is the fact that they do not require shaping due to the fact that the fruits are tied successfully both on the central stem and on the lateral shoots.

Also, a big plus of white cucumbers is their increased resistance to temperature fluctuations and a long fruiting period. White cucumber can withstand elevated temperatures and bears fruit until the first frost.

White varieties do not require care different from ordinary cucumbers, they are unpretentious.

Therefore, if you want to grow such an exotic variety in your garden, feel free to get down to business!
