Cabbage does not tolerate acidic soil and darkening. Choose bright open areas with fertile soil for it; organic fertilizers will need to be applied on poor land. To build up green mass, cabbage needs nitrogen. But when the heads of cabbage begin to form, nitrogen cannot be introduced, otherwise nitrates will accumulate in it, at this time potassium and phosphorus are needed. Growing cabbage and caring for it requires watering, watering and more watering. The plant loves moisture very much. It is better if there is sprinkling, but you can just water it at least once a day. Deep loosening is required after watering.
Unfortunately, cabbage is often affected by cruciferous flea beetles, cabbage scoop, aphids, cabbage fly and other pests. Therefore, it often has to be treated with insecticides or any folk remedies against these pests. Cabbage varieties are divided into early, mid-season and late. Late varieties are best suited for long-term storage and salting.
